    Head Cook

    Job Overview

    • The Head Cook is responsible for overseeing food preparation and also ensuring they are they are presented in an aesthetically pleasing way, while also coordinating the overall affairs of the kitchen.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Total management of the kitchen, preparing meals, handling inventory, stock management, making requisitions, costing and overall kitchen activities.
    • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment, and ensure the readiness of ingredients used in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
    • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen by ensuring cooking utensils are clean before and after each use
    • Ensure that food portions and food presentation meet company standards before they are served.
    • Monitor Kitchen supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
    • Must be actively involved in menu planning and the training of new staff.
    • Follow & Monitor recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
    • Maintain food safety and sanitation standard.
    • Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.

    Requirements

    • Level Required: Minimum of High School Diploma
    • Area of study Preferred: SSCE / OND in Culinary / Hospitality Management

    Experience:

    • 5+ professional experience in similar role.

    • Ability to prepare local & continental dishes.
    • Proven work experience as a cook
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
