Role Description

• The Group Head Human Resources is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Abuja, responsible for overseeing and driving the bank’s HR strategy across all locations. This role manages the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and frameworks that support organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include leading talent acquisition and workforce planning, overseeing performance management and employee development, and ensuring effective employee relations and engagement initiatives.
• The Group Head Human Resources will guide compensation and benefits structures, support leadership with strategic HR advisory, and ensure compliance with labor and employment laws.
• The role collaborates closely with executive management to build a high-performing, inclusive culture that supports sustainable growth in the mortgage banking sector.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience leading HR teams in a financial services or banking environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Labor and Employment Law and HR Policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective governance.
• Proven capability in Employee Relations, including managing conflict resolution, engagement initiatives, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
• Experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and learning and development to support organizational growth.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management decisions.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities, including use of HR metrics and data for decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field; a relevant master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM) is an advantage.
• Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector in Nigeria.
