Graduate Engineering Trainee (GET) Straightening Machines at Quantum Steels Nigeria Limited

JOB SUMMARY

• We are seeking motivated Graduate Engineering Trainees (GET) to be trained in the setup, operation, and maintenance of straightening machines in an industrial environment. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build hands-on experience in machinery operations, maintenance practices, and production processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in machine setup by installing, aligning, and securing dies, fixtures, and tools using hand tools such as gauges, shims, and calipers.
• Learn and support the operation of straightening machines used to correct bent or deformed materials. Set machine parameters such as ram stroke and pressure based on blueprints, technical drawings, or work orders.
• Perform routine maintenance activities including lubrication, cleaning, and basic servicing of machines. Identify and troubleshoot minor malfunctions to ensure smooth machine operation.
• Understand and follow proper equipment isolation procedures during maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure output meets required specifications and quality standards. Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities, and production output. Adhere strictly to safety standards and operational procedures at all times.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Minimum of 2 yrs
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience or industrial exposure.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team and industrial environment.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES

• Internship or prior experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
