Food Security, Nutrition and Livelihood (FSNL) Manager – National Position
The FSNL Manager will sit within the Program team for projects implemented in Borno, Adamawa and Taraba States Nigeria for MI’s livelihoods (vocational trainings, agriculture and women led cooperatives) project.
The post holder will be based in Maiduguri. Under the Country Program Coordinator supervision, the FSNL manager will work with program team and implementing partners operational in Nigeria to ensure program objectives and activities are implemented per defined work plans.
In addition, it is expected that the FSNL manager will ensure that all grants for which s/he is focal point are implemented in a manner that ensures the highest accountability standards and compliance for internal (partners, client/beneficiaries, and MI office.
The Post Holder is responsible for managing the human, material, and financial resources of the project and ensuring smooth coordination internally and externally.
The post holder will be expected to also mentor and/or build the capacity of project staff.
Your responsibilities:
Serve as point person for the project and provide strategic and technical leadership to MI staff and partners for all its components
Identify geographical areas of interest to the organization according to humanitarian needs and vulnerable population context
Contribute to the development of concept notes and proposals for MI and partners destined for submission to donors
Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerable groups are met
Responsible for developing a detailed Term of Reference (TOR) for FSL projects
Liaise with other departments including Finance/Administration, Procurement and Human Resource, Safety and Security departments to ensure adequate support for all project activities and maintain files and archives of Food security
Support program documentation, including catchment population, distribution, and reconciliation records
Your profile:
Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Animal Husbandry, Agronomy and Soil Science, Forestry or any related field as well as 3 years’ practical experience in a similar position with other INGO
Strong analytical and writing skills for proposal writing, log frame development and donor reporting, strong experience in budget management with good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience in capacity building, including managing a team of diverse cultures and supervising, training and coaching staff and partners in FSNL
Experience in remote management and ability and willingness to travel to deep field areas of operation, particularly in Borno, Adamawa and Taraba States
Knowledge of MI’s target areas and understanding of the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria is an asset
Knowledge of English and Local Languages (Hausa, Kanuri etc)
Commitment to beneficiary accountability & humanitarian principles and Code of Conduct and a Child Protection Policy
