    • Act as a financial bridge between technical engineering teams and corporate leadership, translating complex project activities, timelines, and risks into sound financial decisions, reports, and strategic insights.
    • Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) for long-term engineering and infrastructure contracts.
    • Conduct detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) for site builds, retrofit projects, and maintenance activities.
    • Apply and manage the Percentage of Completion (PoC) method for revenue recognition in line with IFRS standards.
    • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts across engineering and technical departments.
    • Perform cost-benefit analysis for capital expenditures (CAPEX) related to telecom equipment, machinery, and site tools.
    • Provide timely financial insights to support strategic, operational, and investment decisions.
    • Oversee depreciation schedules for specialized telecom equipment and fleet vehicles.
    • Ensure accurate tracking, valuation, and control of inventory and spare parts used in field maintenance and site operations.
    • Ensure compliance with telecom-specific tax regulations, statutory obligations, and licensing requirements.
    • Design and enforce internal control systems to prevent financial leakages in procurement, subcontracting, and project execution.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to understand telecoms engineering activities such as tower heights, backhaul capacity, permitting delays, fiber rollouts, and infrastructure deployment schedules.
    • Translate technical milestones and operational constraints into financial forecasts, cash flow planning, risk assessments, and revenue recognition decisions.

    Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, plus a professional certification (ICAAN, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA).
    • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, preferably within telecoms or engineering.
    • Advanced Excel (financial modeling) and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
    • Strong understanding of IFRS 15 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers.

    Required Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of accounting principles, project-based revenue recognition (IFRS 15), budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
    • Ability to comprehend telecoms engineering operations, including fiber deployments, site builds, retrofits, and infrastructure maintenance, and translate them into financial metrics.
    • High proficiency in financial modeling, variance analysis, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
    • Advanced Excel skills (modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
    • Knowledge of telecom regulations, tax obligations, licensing, and strong internal control practices to prevent leakage.
    • Ability to clearly convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, including engineers and executives.
    • Experience leading finance teams and working collaboratively across technical and corporate departments.
    • Capacity to identify financial risks from technical project constraints and provide actionable solutions.
    • High accuracy in accounting, reporting, and financial analysis under tight deadlines.
    • Demonstrates honesty, ethical standards, and reliability in financial management.
