    Finance and Account Officer

    • The Accounts and Finance Officer is responsible for managing financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate accounting practices in line with the organization's policies.
    • This role involves working closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company.
    • Manage and record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
    • Ensure reconciliation of bank statements, ledgers, and balances.
    • Keep records of all function sheets for events and ensure adequate entries on the Software.
    • Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
    • Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
    • Provide analysis of financial performance and variances.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary tax documents.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested financial information.
    • File statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other taxes as required.
    • Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for operations.
    • Manage petty cash and oversee proper documentation of expenditure

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN) is an advantage.
    • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant work experience in accounting and finance roles.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally).
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.
