    Executive Director (Agric sector)

    An Agric supply and manufacturing company is in search of an Executive Director to oversee one of its key divisions responsible for the production of livestock finished feeds, concentrates and premixes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategy direction for the company’s divisions and communicate the same to COOs, CFO and all senior management
    • Ensure understanding and alignment with strategy among top and middle management with a communication plan to the whole company
    • Oversee employees and ensure that projects and short and long-term initiatives align with company culture.
    • Ensure efficient daily production with minimization of all-cause downtime
    • Determine appropriate costing and selling price strategy to third party clients and inter-division
    • Provide growth projections along with feasibility studies considering internal (farm divisions) and external (poultry farms, distributors, millers, competition) factors
    • Ensure efficient capacity utilization of all production assets
    • Ensure systems are in place for quality assurance, GMP, occupational safety and environmental protection are in place
    • Monitor external experiences and feedback to improve customer experience, preserve the company image and avoid legal exposure
    • Assess the budget needs of the organization and create financial reports for stakeholders to review.
    • Provide valuable insights and communication of the same to the board of directors for decision making and awareness purposes
    • Ensure company wide corporate initiatives are complied with such as but not limited to; data protection and privacy, business process digitization and automation, gift receiving, corporate governance, etc.
    • Act as a mentor to company leadership.
    • Create successful fundraising for organizational as well as community-wide goals.
    • Actively communicate with employees they oversee to motivate them and understand their various perspectives.
    • Create, maintain, and improve employer brand processes and image.
    • Conducting research and implementing new initiatives to reduce cost, increase revenue, improve company image, promote safety, improving customer service and providing competitive products
    • Ensuring that company’s assets and resources are well maintained and available for productive use at all times

    • Business Operation Resources: Microsoft Sharepoint, Outlook, Teams, Office, Peoples account & Microsoft Dynamics business essentials accounting package

    Required Skills

    The areas that you should consider to create a comprehensive picture of the ideal executive director skills set are the following:

    • Hard skills: Financial planning and administration, key account management, Budgeting and accounting, grains procurement, manufacturing and quality management, sales force management
    • Soft skills: Public speaking, advanced communication, good command of MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS teams.  Leadership and human resource management. Bi-lingual, Attention to detail & strong written and communication skills.
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree. MBA and other advanced specialized degrees would be an added advantage
    • Experience: 12+ years post graduate experience in agribusiness, manufacturing, finance, management, human resource management. Poultry and feed milling industry experience preferred
