Job Description

• To ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transport of passengers, goods, or materials.
• The driver is responsible for vehicle maintenance, route planning, and compliance with traffic laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation and Delivery:

• Transport passengers, goods, or materials to designated locations on time.
• Follow assigned routes or set destinations, using navigation tools as necessary.
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials or passengers as per safety guidelines.

Vehicle Safety and Maintenance:

• Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking oil, tire pressure, and fuel levels.
• Report any vehicle issues or needed repairs to management.

Compliance with Traffic Laws:

• Adhere to all traffic laws, signs, and regulations.
• Follow company policies related to driving and safety standards.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and other necessary certifications.

Record Keeping:

• Log driving hours, delivery schedules, and any incidents during trips.
• Maintain records of vehicle inspections, fuel use, and service requirements.

Customer Service:

• Ensure professional and courteous communication with passengers, clients, or recipients of deliveries.
• Handle customer concerns or issues during transport and report them to the supervisor if needed.

Safety and Emergency Procedures:

Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring passenger and cargo safety.

• Follow procedures in case of accidents or emergencies, including notifying the appropriate authorities and company management.

Skills and Qualifications

• Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and 2 - 5 years relevant work experience.
• Valid Driver’s License: (Class of license depends on vehicle type)
• Clean Driving Record: Must have no major violations.
• Knowledge of Traffic Rules and Regulations: Awareness of local and national traffic laws.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to sit for long periods, load and unload cargo, if required.
• Navigation Skills: Proficiency in using GPS and other navigation systems.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently and meet delivery or transport schedules.
• Customer Service Skills: Professional demeanor when interacting with passengers or clients.

Experience:

• Previous driving experience (preferably in a similar role).
• Familiarity with operating different types of vehicles (if applicable, such as trucks, vans, or buses).
