The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and supporting the logistics and distribution network within the company’s supply chain function. This role ensures cost-effective, timely, and accurate delivery of goods by overseeing transportation performance, managing logistics data, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with a sound understanding of logistics operations and the dynamic demands of the FMCG industry.
Key outputs and responsibilities:
Logistics Performance Monitoring
- Track, evaluate, and report on key logistics KPIs across transport and distribution operations to ensure alignment with productivity and service level targets.
Cost and Productivity Optimization
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities by analyzing logistics spend, route optimization, load utilization, and warehouse efficiencies.
Data Management and Analysis
- Manage logistics data systems to provide accurate, real-time insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Operational Support
- Provide analytical and process support to the logistics and supply chain teams to resolve operational bottlenecks and drive end-to-end efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (procurement, planning, finance, warehousing, transport) and external logistics providers to ensure synchronized operational data and key Performance Indicator.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Drive and support lean and agile practices, using tools like root cause analysis and benchmarking to support process improvements in Tier 1 & 2 transportation.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and relevant transport regulations. Generate timely reports and insights for management reviews.
Technology and Tools Utilization
- Utilize logistics platforms, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools to enhance data visibility and reporting accuracy.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Completed Data Analysis or Data Science Training
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in logistics, transport planning, or supply chain analytics, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to solve complex problems independently and efficiently.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Skilled in data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Python (or other relevant analytics languages/tools).
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to and drive change effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Transport Management Systems (TMS) is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
