The Credit and Marketing Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new and existing client relationships to drive business growth and ensure quality credit portfolio management. The role involves assessing loan applications, monitoring credit performance, developing marketing strategies and promoting the institution’s financial products and services to achieve set targets while maintaining high credit standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and appraise loan applications based on credit policies and risk assessment standards.
Conduct due diligence and credit analysis on individuals and businesses.
Prepare comprehensive credit reports and make sound lending recommendations.
Monitor loan performance, collections, and repayments to minimize delinquency.
Maintain proper credit documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
Follow up with clients on repayments and take timely recovery actions where necessary.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets to expand the customer base.
Promote the institution’s products and services through field visits, marketing campaigns, and client engagement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring excellent customer service.
Develop marketing plans and contribute to product development initiatives.
Achieve individual and branch sales/loan disbursement targets.
Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Prepare periodic credit and marketing performance reports.
Ensure all transactions comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical practices.
Support the branch in achieving profitability, risk management, and sustainability goals
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of an HND/B.Sc. degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in in credit analysis, loan processing, or marketing within the financial services industry (preferably in a microfinance, commercial bank, or lending institution).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Savvy in Marketing, Business Development, Customer Relations and Business Finance.
Sound knowledge of credit risk management principles.
Target-driven and results-oriented.
Proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting tools.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., CBN/MFB regulations).
