    Corporate/Commercial Counsel

    Role Description

    • This is a full-time hybrid role for a Corporate/Commercial Counsel at Bluebulb Financials Limited.
    • The Corporate/Commercial Counsel will report to the General Counsel and be responsible for providing expert legal advice, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, and addressing legal issues as they arise. 
    • The role will have expertise in legal advisory in structuring and documenting transaction in IMTO, Fund Management and other payment solutions within the Group's portfolio. 

    Experience

    • Minimum of 4–10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on financial services, capital markets, and the payments ecosystem.
    • In-depth knowledge of payment licensing- IMTO, PSS, Fund Management licenses
    • Cross-jurisdictional regulatory compliance experience, particularly in UK, Canada, Kenya and Nigeria.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research abilities.
    • Solid understanding of financial regulations, corporate governance, and risk management.
    • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of advising senior management and stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; Master's Degree (LLM) or specialized legal qualifications are advantageous.
    • Must be admitted to practice law in Nigeria. Bar qualifications in foreign jurisdictions (UK or Canada) is a plus.
    • Professional Certification: Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Certifications in compliance, finance, capital markets law, Arbitration/Mediation Institutes are desirable.
