    Content and Publishing Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Content & Publishing Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end content lifecycle and managing the publishing operations of Detail and Avedia Limited.
    • The role oversees content strategy, content creation, editorial quality, publishing, distribution, and performance reporting while ensuring alignment with client objectives and business goals.
    • The role serves as the operational lead for the company's publishing arm, driving publishing revenue, managing book production, overseeing bookstore distribution, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring production quality, and expanding market reach for published works.
    • The Content & Publishing Manager collaborates with internal teams, external vendors, bookstores, distributors, authors, and clients to ensure efficient publishing operations and sustainable business growth.

    Key Responsibilities
    Publishing Business Management:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's publishing arm.
    • Develop and implement initiatives that contribute to publishing revenue growth and commercial success.
    • Support the commercialization of published works through effective sales, distribution, and market expansion strategies.
    • Identify opportunities for new publishing partnerships, collaborations, and revenue streams.
    • Contribute to business development efforts that support the growth of the publishing division.

    Book Production & Quality Assurance:

    • Oversee the production process for books, publications, educational materials, and other publishing projects.
    • Coordinate with printers, production vendors, authors, editors, and designers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
    • Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure all publications meet company standards.
    • Monitor production timelines and resolve issues that may affect delivery schedules or quality standards.
    • Ensure all published materials are accurate, professionally presented, and fit for market distribution.

    Distribution & Bookstore Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with bookstores, distributors, educational institutions, and retail partners.
    • Expand the company's distribution network to increase market reach and product availability.
    • Coordinate book deliveries and monitor distribution turnaround times.
    • Ensure published materials are available across targeted sales and distribution channels.
    • Monitor distribution performance and implement initiatives to improve market penetration.

    Inventory & Consignment Management:

    • Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock movement, and bookstore consignments.
    • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment where necessary.
    • Ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of consignment sales and inventory records.
    • Work closely with Finance and Operations teams to maintain accountability and transparency in stock management.
    • Conduct periodic inventory reviews and recommend improvements to stock management processes.

    Governance, Compliance & Operational Excellence:

    • Ensure adherence to publishing standards, editorial guidelines, and company policies.
    • Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure publishing requests are completed within agreed timelines.
    • Identify operational risks, production bottlenecks, and distribution challenges and escalate them appropriately.
    • Drive continuous improvement across content, publishing, and operational workflows.
    • Maintain professionalism, accountability, and excellence across all responsibilities.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 4 years' progressive experience in publishing, content management, editorial operations, book production, or a related field.
    • Experience working with printers, authors, editors, distributors, bookstores, educational institutions, and other publishing stakeholders.
    • Experience driving business growth, revenue generation, partnerships, or market expansion initiatives.
    • Experience within a publishing house, educational publishing company, media organization, marketing agency, or content-driven business will be an advantage.
