Consultant to the Chief Executive Officer

    Role Summary

    • As the Foundation scales its national footprint and deepens programmatic impact, the CEO requires a strategic and operational advisor to enhance institutional effectiveness, optimize inter-departmental coordination, and strengthen executive decision-making processes.
    • The Consultant to the CEO will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, supporting the CEO in overseeing the daily operations of all departments — Programs, Legal, Finance, Communications, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Administration — ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, strategy, and governance standards.

    Purpose of the Role

To provide the CEO with structured executive support, strategic oversight, and operational guidance across all units of the Foundation, enabling the CEO to transition from a primarily social work–driven leadership style to a fully functional executive management role anchored in efficiency, accountability, and impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Executive Advisory & Organizational Oversight

    • Advise and support the CEO in day-to-day decision-making and implementation across all departments.

    • Serve as a bridge between the CEO and departmental heads, ensuring clarity of priorities, timely execution, and adherence to organizational policies.

    • Provide high-level analysis on operational performance, identifying bottlenecks and recommending solutions.

    • Support the CEO in institutional planning, board reporting, and coordination of strategic initiatives.

    2. Systems Strengthening & Operational Excellence

    • Evaluate and streamline internal processes across Programs, Finance, Legal, and Communications units to improve efficiency.

    • Develop and implement performance monitoring frameworks to ensure departmental accountability.

    • Guide the CEO in establishing clear reporting lines, measurable goals, and integrated work plans.

    • Oversee adherence to compliance, governance, and donor reporting requirements.

    3. Leadership Development & Change Management

    • Mentor and coach the CEO and senior managers to strengthen leadership, planning, and supervisory capabilities.

    • Facilitate a more structured approach to delegation, priority management, and internal communication.

    • Cultivate a performance-driven culture that aligns operational execution with strategic goals.

    4. Stakeholder Engagement & Institutional Positioning

    • Support the CEO in preparing for high-level stakeholder engagements, donor meetings, and public speaking opportunities.

    • Ensure that departmental outputs (reports, proposals, partnerships) align with the organization’s vision and professional standards.

    • Represent the CEO, when required, at internal or external meetings to maintain momentum on key initiatives.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Advanced degree in Management, Development Studies, Organizational Leadership, or Social Policy.

    • Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in senior management, consulting, or executive advisory roles, ideally within NGOs, international development, or social sector organizations.

    • Proven expertise in organizational development, operations management, and executive leadership support.

    • Demonstrated ability to guide social-sector leaders toward structured, sustainable operational models.

    • Strong analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

    • Excellent communication, diplomacy, and stakeholder management abilities.

    Personal Attributes

    • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.

    • Emotionally intelligent and tactful in guiding leadership without undermining authority.

    • Passionate about child protection, social justice, and capacity building.

    • Organized, discreet, and comfortable managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

    • Collaborative leader with the ability to balance empathy with accountability.

Expected Outcomes (Within First 6–12 Months)

    • Functional alignment between all departments and the CEO’s office.

    • Strengthened executive routines, meeting structures, and reporting systems.

    • Increased organizational efficiency, with clear performance indicators for all departments.

    • Enhanced confidence and capacity of the CEO to lead strategically, manage operationally, and delegate effectively.
