Construction Earthwork Supervisor at O.K. Isokariari & Sons Nigeria Limited

Job Description

• The Earthwork Supervisor provides day to day oversight and direction to the Earthmoving Machinery Operator and field personnel assigned to on-site construction projects.
• Brings specialized knowledge and experience in executing projects particularly in land development operations with the aim of setting up a construction.
• Create an ideal base for various types of construction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and manage earthwork activities safely.
• Supervise Earthmoving machinery during excavation, back filling and clearing.
• Prepare for project startup with the Project Manager/ Project Engineer.
• Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives.
• Understand and apply the requirements in project documents with regard to quality control procedures such as testing, shop drawings, material approvals, samples, mock-ups, execution of the work, etc.
• Become familiar with each job estimate for general condition items and follow the direction of the Project Manager/Project Engineer with regards to performing work within the boundaries of the estimate.
• Keep the Project Engineer updated of any change in activity or cost prior to incurring additional time or materials outside of the project scope.

• Plan and review the construction project with the Project Manager on a weekly basis.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a B.Eng / B.Sc qualification.
• Minimum of Five (5) years experience in boundary, topographic and construction surveys, design surveys, subdivision plats, water rights surveys, horizontal and vertical control networks for aerials and GPS surveys.
• Experience in the construction industry required.
• Must have strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, be self-directed with good verbal and written communication skills.
