Compliance Specialist at eRecruiter Nigeria

JOB SUMMARY: Compliance Specialist for a new Challenger Bank currently in STEALTH MODE.

The Bank is on a mission to improve the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise's financial health by providing meaningful digital financial solutions, utilizing open banking and platform model. The venture is backed by one of the prominent businesses in Nigeria (HQ in Singapore) with a large operation and captive market to support the venture's rapid growth. The Management team consists of diverse, multidiscipline, and experienced talent.

The Bank is now in preparation to launch the venture in Q4 2021.

We are looking for a compliance specialist with Bank's digital initiative experience. This role is expected to build relationship with the regulators and work in a cross- functional team to protect our stakeholders' interests from regulation perspectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build trust and healthy relationship with the regulators, acting as the key point of contact
• Develop and manage compliance assurance policies and systems
• Lead initiatives to maintain the license
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and filling, respond to regulator's queries
• Lead internal and external regulatory audits
• Pro-actively monitor and assess company's operation and products for regulatory risks; provide teams with education, constructive solutions, and guidance
• Keep up to date with the company direction and new regulations to ensure the right focus and understanding of the critical compliance issues

Key Requirements 

• 3 - 6 years' experience in Bank compliance function in Nigeria
• Must have a legal academic background (LLB, MLB)
• Experience from a commercial bank or any other banking service organization.
• Must be able to interact with SEC, CBN, NIBSS and other relevant regulatory bodies
• Thrive on autonomy, have a strong sense of urgency, meticulous
• Exceptional communicator
• Understand everything about contracts.
