Community Engagement and Communications Officer at Africa Youth Growth Foundation

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community outreach and sensitization campaigns.
• Mobilize community stakeholders to support project activities and ensure community buy-in.
• Organize and coordinate advocacy events and stakeholder meetings.
• Develop and distribute communication materials in English, Pidgin, and native dialects.
• Collect and incorporate community feedback to improve project activities.
• Coordinate with program staff to gather information, stories, and data for communication materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, making adjustments as needed to optimize impact and reach.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Community Development, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or certifications in community engagement, project management, or similar disciplines are advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or program coordination preferably in the NGO sector.
• Proven track record of working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Provable experience in Grant writing and Management.
• Experience in managing community-based projects, particularly in areas related to TIPs prevention, management, Reintegration, social development, etc.
• Proficiency in relevant computer software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and statistical analysis software
• Must reside in Edo State.
