    Communication Officer

    Job Description

    Our client is an NGO that provides various online and on-ground group studies and funding for less privileged women and talented individuals. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Responsibilities include writing and editing promotional and communications materials, such as press releases, blog posts, social media content, and project proposals, while ensuring that all communications and promotional materials adhere to brand standards.
    • Create communication and marketing strategies for new, products, launches, events, and promotions about online, on-ground, the progress of businesses is involved in.
    • The Communications Officer will also create digital and graphic designs, including infographics, website and social media content, banners, displays, posters, newsletters, animations, and digital reports.
    • In addition to managing social media accounts and responding to media inquiries, the Communications Officer will track campaign analytics and maintain digital and physical media archives.
    • Other duties include participating in the development and periodic update of the organization's website, coordinating relationships with vendors, maintaining a database of journalists and media personnel, and staying up-to-date on emerging trends and developments in communication, electronic media, community relations, public information, community events, resources, and promotional opportunities.

    Qualification Requirements

    • The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication and Media Science, Journalism, Linguistic Sciences (English), Social Sciences or a related field of study, as well as at least five years of professional experience in a comparable position, preferably with international organizations.
    • Proven project management skills in complex, multi-faceted projects are a must, along with strong conceptual thinking and target group-oriented communication skills.
    • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) in English are required, as is a good working knowledge of ICT and computer applications (MS Office – Word/ Powerpoint/ Publisher, Adobe - Illustrator/Indesign/Acrobat Pro/Photoshop etc.).
    • Intercultural competence and the ability to interact with an international internal and external audience are critical, as is a sound knowledge of relationship building, relationship management, and networking.
    • Timely response to communication-related matters in a friendly manner.
    • The Communications Officer will work closely with the Executive Director/supervisor to manage the organization's image and liaison with other organizations.
    • This individual will also represent the company at meetings and forums as assigned, provide some level of supervision and support for communications assistants and interns, manage all media equipment and the media lab.
    • Perform any other related assignments as required by the Executive Director.
