    College Provost

    Job Summary

    • The Provost is the Chief Executive Officer of the College, responsible for the day-to-day management and operations.
    • He is accountable to the Council for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and discipline of the College.
    • The Provost must demonstrate strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative in policy formulation, effective management of human and material resources, good human relations, and other positive managerial attributes.

    Eligibility/Criteria
    The candidate for the post of Provost should meet the following requirements:

    • A Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) from a recognized university in a field relevant to at least one programme offered by the College.
    • Attain the rank of Chief Lecturer in the College of Education system or any similar tertiary institution.
    • Fifteen (15) years of cognate experience in the College of Education system or any other tertiary institution.
    • Membership of a professional association in the field of Education or an equivalent field.
    • Possess a professional teaching qualification, a minimum of NCE or PGDE or its equivalent.
    • Evidence of registration as a professional teacher with TRCN.
    • Should not be more than fifty-nine (59) years of age at the time of taking up the appointment.
    • Should have held a senior teaching/research and top administrative post in a College of Education system or any other tertiary institution, demonstrating the ability to manage human and material resources.
    • Evidence of a good track record in result-oriented research at national and international levels, as evident in scholarly publications.
    • Should possess evidence of proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (packages and capabilities).
    • Evidence of community service at both local and national levels.

    Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service

    • The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years in line with extant laws. The appointee shall enjoy any benefit attached to the position of a principal officer of the College as approved by the State Government.
