Physical Education Educator at Wellspring College

Location: Wellspring College, Lagos

Wellspring College is seeking to engage a dynamic, passionate, and highly skilled Physical Education Teacher who is committed to developing students' physical abilities, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Physical Education lessons while leading the College's sports development programs and preparing students for inter-school and national competitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons in line with the school's curriculum.
• Identify, nurture, and develop sporting talents across different age groups.
• Coach students in a variety of sports, including athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and other sporting activities.
• Plan and execute structured training programs that prepare students for internal, inter-school, regional, national and international competitions.
• Organize team selections, training schedules, and sporting events.
• Foster discipline, teamwork, resilience, and good sportsmanship among students.
• Monitor students' physical development and maintain accurate performance records.
• Ensure the safe use and maintenance of sports facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate with school leadership to promote sports participation and wellness initiatives.
• Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education, Human Kinetics, Sports Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience, preferably in a reputable secondary school.
• Demonstrable experience coaching students in multiple sports with a proven record of preparing teams for competitions and achieving commendable results.
• Strong knowledge of sports training techniques, injury prevention, and student athlete development.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve excellence both on and off the field.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Must demonstrate adaptability and alignment with Wellspring College's core values and culture.
