Clinical Specialist at Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi)

Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension (based on performance)

Key roles:

The services of the consultant will include but not limited to the following:

1. Coordinate the Provision of ART services to PLHIVs at facilities in the LGA in line with the National guidelines both at the facility and community.
2. Coordinate and conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, diagnosis, and management of HIV/AIDS and related opportunistic infections.
3. Oversee clinical HIV management interventions for PLHIVS at the facilities in the LGA.
4. Review clinical records to evaluate the necessary level of client care.
5. Effectively manage and supervise other clinical team members, health service providers, volunteers and case managers at the facility as well as through other DSD sites in the designated LGA.
6. Provide pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) services for eligible clients.
7. Supervise weekly/monthly clinical staff meetings, integrate facility and Community services with other project activities to enhance the achievement of project outcomes in the LGA.
8. Provide support to the Strategic Information (SI) unit to manage data collection for service delivery to PLHIVs in project communities using nationally approved tools at the facilities in the LGA.
9. Support for data analysis, interpretation and use at all facilities in the LGA.
10. Use of data at facility level for decision making towards improving service delivery.
11. Preparation of program reports, proactively seek out and report relevant opportunities, success stories, linkages or challenges that may promote clinical services for the project.
12. Provide technical and programmatic oversight to the pharmacy, Lab and other units in the LGAs.
13. Health Education to clients in areas requiring needs.
14. Work collaboratively with community outreach teams, peer educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure a seamless continuum of care at the LGA.
15. Coordinate referrals for additional services, including psychosocial support, legal aid, and other specialized care.
16. Carry out any task as assigned.

Recruitments:

1. A degree in medicine (MBBS) from a recognized institution with 2 to 3 years post NYSC experience in clinical management of HIV/TB.
2. Valid License to practice as a Doctor in Nigeria.
3. Possession of a post graduate degree in a related field is an added advantage.
4. Excellent ability to communicate, lead and maintain productive relations with the team; resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast changing and challenging environment.
5. Ability to use key computing applications e g MS Office Suite etc and knowledge of different databases (DHIS or NMRS) is a plus.
6. Proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
