    Claims Supervisor

    The Role

    • The Claims Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing claims processes relating to damaged, missing, short-landed, or disputed cargo/materials. The role ensures proper investigation, documentation, resolution, and reporting of claims while maintaining compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and operational standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate all claims-related activities and processes.
    • Investigate cargo/material damage, shortages, losses, or operational discrepancies.
    • Review and validate supporting documents, including delivery notes, tally sheets, invoices, manifests, and incident reports.
    • Liaise with clients, warehouse teams, operations personnel, transport providers, and insurers regarding claims matters.
    • Ensure timely processing, resolution, and closure of claims cases.
    • Maintain accurate records and claims documentation.
    • Prepare claims reports and provide updates to management.
    • Monitor trends in claims and recommend corrective actions to reduce recurring incidents.
    • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and HSE standards.
    • Coordinate inspections and assessments where necessary.
    • Supervise and guide claims officers or support personnel.
    • Support audits, reconciliations, and operational investigations related to claims.
    • Escalate high-risk or unresolved claims issues to management promptly.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Terminal Operations, Insurance, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in claims handling, logistics operations, warehouse operations, or cargo management.
    • Strong analytical and investigation skills.
    • Good knowledge of cargo documentation and operational processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple claims cases effectively.
