    JOB DESCRIPTION FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

    The Business Development Officer will work under the supervision of the Head Business development and Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for identification of new business opportunities for acquisition of new clients.

    • Perform market research to identify new opportunities and establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities.
    • Create and improve proposals for our existing and new clients.
    • Finding prospects, following up on business opportunities and setting up meetings
    • Prepare the business development budget and ensure that revenue targets are met.
    • Develop and deliver pitches for potential investors.
    • Prepare presentations
    • Introducing new product developments to prospective clients
    • Supervising the creation of marketing materials
    • Generate periodic reports for the department

    HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING

    The Head, Business Development & Marketing will drive the development and implementation of the Agency’s strategic and tactical plans for customer acquisition, income generation, awareness creation, and the achievement of growth objectives. The Successful candidate will facilitate enabling partnerships and alliances, manage strategic relationships with stakeholders, and develop winning marketing and communications strategies. The Head Business Development and Marketing will report to Executive Secretary of the Agency.

    Strategy & Planning

    • Propose efficient strategy for customer acquisition, business plan and budget, to drive enrollee and income growth and the achievement of set goals and targets.
    • Develop integrated marketing strategies, pricing and sales plans
    • Develop supporting implementation plans to drive the execution of strategies and business plans.
    • Lead market research, market and competitor analysis, for insights to support business decision making, and identify opportunities as well as threats; leverage knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the Agency’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
    • Track and monitor business development and marketing performance in line with defined goals and metrics; deploy appropriate interventions where necessary.
    • Provide expert advice on business development and marketing.
    • Keep abreast of economic, industry, market and regulatory trends, ascertain their (potential) impact on the Agency, advice management accordingly and take appropriate action to strengthen the Agency’s position
    • Present monthly reports to management as required

    Business Development

    • Prospect for and identify new business opportunities.
    • Lead the business development team to develop business cases and undertake other vital analysis to support decision making.
    • Manage and coordinate business development activities throughout the market (pitching, lead generation etc.).
    • Identify appropriate customer groups to target; design optimal outreach strategies for prospects; identify appropriate and effective ways to position the Agency’s services and value addition.
    • Work with the business development and marketing team to develop, negotiate and win long term profitable and sustainable business.
