Project Management & Collaboration:
Manages entire packets design workflow lifecycle from concept to production, as timelines, budgets, and project milestones, to ensure on-time product launches. Lead or collaborate with marketing, product development, R&D, procurement, manufacturing and Legal teams to ensure cohesive design, and that packaging meets sales technical and logistical requirements. Coordinate and work with external vendors and manufacturers of packaging suppliers and to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production and to troubleshoot issues. Also to approve final supplier-ready artworks, ensure quality, and oversee printing and production processes. Has deep understanding of printing technologies, manufacturing processes, and materials science. Possesses strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Compliance, Quality & Sustainability:
Ensures all packaging designs comply with legal, labeling, industry safety standards, (e.g., NAFDAC, SON) in relevant markets: Implements eco-friendly solutions (recycling and biodegradable) and reducing packaging waste to meet sustainability goals. Implements and maintains quality standards for print and material, reviewing samples before full-scale production.
Leadership & Innovation:
Lead, develop and support a team of graphic designers or creative art workers, or packaging engineers. Implements improvements in the design-to-print process, including the use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or AI tools to enhance efficiency.
Technical Skills Required:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and CAD/3D modeling software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks).
