Duties / Responsibilities

• The Bursar shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the College and Head of the Bursary Department, and is responsible to the Provost for the general financial work and running of the College.
• He/she be the custodian of all financial records of the college. staff and students and shall perform any other function which the Council or Provost may direct.

Requirements

The Bursar shall:

• Possess a good honours Degree from a recognised higher institution in Accounting, Finance or related discipline as well as a professionally recognized Accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACA, ACMA, ACCA, ANAN etc.
• Be an active member of a Professional body; not be above Fifty-nine (59) years of age at the time of application;
• Possess a minimum of eighteen (15) years of relevant post qualification financial experience from any tertiary institution or supervisory body or corporate organisation where he/she has served at the level of Deputy Bursar, Chief Accountant or its equivalent for not less than two (2) years;
• Be Computer literate.

Tenure:

• A Bursar shall hold office for a single term of five years only, beginning from the effective date of the appointment, and on terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
