    Business Analyst

    Job Identification: 1725

    Duties & Responsibilties

    • Support the Finance Business Partner in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for various business units.
    • Conduct detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend reporting to inform business performance and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
    • Collaborate with business units to gather, validate, and document financial and operational data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Identify, recommend, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop business cases and financial models to support new initiatives, product launches, or strategic projects.
    • Support in facilitating financial review meetings, preparing presentations and supporting documentation as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory standards applicable to the Nigerian banking sector.
    • Act as a liaison between finance, IT, risk, and other support departments to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
    • Participate in special assignments and ad hoc projects as directed by the Finance Business Partner and Head of Finance.
    • Identify and collate appropriate data for scorecard generation 
    • Cascade the business unit’s budget to the the groups, teams, desks and relationship managers
    • Prepare customer profitability analysis for RMs on request.
    • Track performance effectively.
    • Generate and communicate scorecards to End-Users
    • Assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from Scorecards, MIS, Expense control, Budget of these groups
    • Facilitate robust performance dialogues.
    • Facilitate enlightenment/training sessions on scorecards and other Performance Initiatives.
    • Maintain the Security of all Information entrusted to the staff.
    • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Business Partner

    Job Requirements
    Education:

    • First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering.
    • Master’s Degree/Professional certification in Accounting or Finance (ACA, CIBN or similar professional qualifications).

    Experience:

    • Experience in MIS (Management Information System).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and leading analytics tools, SQL, etc.
    • Experience in Finance or Accounting.
    • Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, in MIS, Finance, Forecasting, budgeting or finance role

    Product Control Officer

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Daily review and reconciliation of Account Balances in Treasury Application, i.e., Calypso to Core Banking Application Balances.
    • Daily review and reconciliation of Treasury suspense Account.
    • Daily validation of the previous day’s closing positions of Treasury Products (Fixed Income Securities, Placements & Takings, Fx and Derivatives).
    • Daily review & validation of Receivables, Payables and Contingent Accounts of Treasury Products.
    • Daily root-cause analysis of variances, raise exceptions against originating users/departments and/or obtain approvals for corrections (where applicable).
    • Daily GL-Blotter Reconciliation to ensure all deals consummated by Treasury dealers are documented in the blotter and posted into the Ledger, with prompt escalation of all outstanding. 
    • Timely preparation and delivery of Daily Profit or loss Report for Treasury Products for Trading Desks & other Units.
    • Monthly validation of the completeness of Fixed Income Securities & Pledges held by the bank in S4, CSCS & FMDQ and other depositories.
    • Monitor the compliance of Treasury units with the Product Control Framework and other regulatory guidelines on Treasury Products.
    • Monitor the Suspense Accounts for Treasury Products to ensure that only verifiable unsettled trades are held in such accounts (where applicable).
    • Handle the creation/modification of Accounting Rules, Account Mapping, Static Filters and other requirements for new/existing Treasury Products.
    • Support the Financial/Management Reporting Team by providing analytical insight into the performance/positions of Treasury Products.
    • Support process improvements around the Treasury Business Value chain (Trading Desks, Risk Management, Settlement Operations, Internal Control).
    • Support the management of audits relating to the Treasury Business & Products (Internal, External & Regulatory Audits).

    Job Requirements/Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics or any related field. 
    • Must possess at least 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role. 
    • CFA or ACA/ACCA; Accounting or related Bachelors.
