The successful candidate in this role with manage and cultivate key-relationships and drive field sales force to meet/ surpass company’s commercial targets for its consumer healthcare product range across GT/MT/ HORECA /alternate & BTL/ATL activities in Lagos & west region of Nigeria, leading a direct/ indirect team of 80+ people.
What to expect:
Prepare the annual sales budget and drive sales & marketing activities to meet/ surpass sales targets by leveraging the consumer healthcare range.
Create and oversee execution of effective sales strategies toward the achievement of the company’s sales objectives.
Ensure effective implementation of region-wide sales plans to meet/ surpass sales targets on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Assume P&L responsibility for the assigned sales budgets for complete consumer healthcare product range.
Extend support to marketing activities to promote products and build/ boost brands in coordination with the marketing team.
Cultivate and manage relationships with key customers to improve sales and augment market share.
Follow market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies and report to central marketing and sales leadership.
Drive performance of the field sales force by supervising, assessing and providing feedback in real time to meet/ surpass individual and team targets.
Engage, mentor and motivate field sales force continually to build a high-performing team
Essential experience, education and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in general business management or equivalent is mandatory, tertiary qualifications such as MBA in Sales/ Marketing highly preferred.
2-15 years of progressive experience in driving consumer sales, a minimum of 5 years in a Region-wide role.
Prior experience working with consumer healthcare/ OTC products is a must.
Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders.
Strong collaboration skills to partner with functional teams, agency partners and business teams.
Strong analytical skills, understanding consumer needs/ trends and problem-solving approach.
Leadership skills and proven track record of building/ driving high-performing sales teams.
Experience of working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues in a complex multi-country, matrix environment is preferred.
Self-starter with an ability to stay independently motivated and deliver the assigned mandate.
