    Bank Reconciliation Officer

    Job Summary:

    • The Bank Reconciliation Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records by reconciling bank statements with internal accounting records. This role involves identifying discrepancies, resolving variances, and maintaining proper documentation to support financial transactions. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Bank Reconciliation:

    • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of bank statements with the company’s general ledger.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank records and internal accounting entries.
    • Ensure all transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, fees, and interest) are accurately recorded.

    Financial Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliation reports for management review.
    • Document and follow up on outstanding reconciling items (uncleared checks, missing deposits, etc.).
    • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

    Discrepancy Resolution & Compliance:

    • Work with banks, vendors, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and report suspicious or fraudulent transactions.

    Process Improvement:

    • Recommend and implement improvements to streamline reconciliation processes.
    • Assist in automating reconciliation tasks where possible.

    Coordination & Support:

    • Collaborate with the accounts payable/receivable teams to verify transaction accuracy.
    • Support audits by providing reconciliation reports and supporting documents.

    Qualifications & Skills:Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in bank reconciliation, general accounting, or a similar role.
    • Experience in an electromechanical, manufacturing, or engineering services company is a plus.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Tally) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).

    Key Competencies:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent analytical (excel) and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
    • Good communication skills for cross-departmental coordination.
