Role Summary
The Creative Intern/Officer will support the Creative Department by developing box structures, conducting feasibility analyses, creating production-ready concepts, and supervising prototypes and production processes.
You will learn to transform ideas into real products by understanding structure, materials, measurements, and production capabilities. This is a technical-creative role that involves drawing, spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and hands-on supervision of production.
The role is ideal for recent graduates, technically skilled individuals, and anyone passionate about creating physical products from concept to finish. You will receive structured training for 1 month, undergo a 2-month probation, and then transition into a full Creative Officer role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Ideation & Structural Concept Development
- Translate briefs into clear, creative and structural ideas.
- Assist in developing packaging concepts, visual themes and idea boards.
- Create sketches, rough drawings and structural outlines for boxes and paper products.
- Support colour palette planning, material selection and visual direction.
- Carry out trend research and benchmarking under supervision.
Structural Feasibility & Technical Assessment
- Evaluate whether client box ideas are technically possible and cost-effective.
- Suggest alternative materials or structures when a concept is not feasible.
- Work with the design and production teams to ensure ideas match production capability.
- Learn industry standards for sizing, materials, tolerances and finishing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support the Sales team by explaining creative/structural options to them.
- Assist designers in turning concepts into print-ready designs.
- Work with production and print teams during the transition from concept to manufacturing.
Client Advisory (Internal & External)
- Provide sketches, samples or visual references to aid communication.
- Join internal creative reviews and occasional client discussions with the Manager.
- Help communicate structural decisions clearly and simply.
Quality Assurance & Creative Standards
- Review designs and structures to ensure they meet Cubic Prints’ quality expectations.
- Ensure functional durability, neatness, and brand consistency across all projects.
SOPs, Documentation & Concept Library
- Document all creative decisions and structural recommendations in job folders.
- Help build Cubic Prints’ creative reference library (materials, dielines, box styles, finishing samples).
- Assist in maintaining SOPs for creative development.
Production Supervision & Scheduling Support
- Assist in planning production timelines for boxes and paper bags.
- Ensure materials are available for prototype development.
- Participate in sample creation and R&D testing.
- Supervise cutting, mapping/planning, die-cutting, creasing, and finishing processes as directed.
Gift Box & Paper Bag Production Oversight (Support Role)
Gift Boxes
- Support prototype approval, tooling, blade making and die-cutting.
- Assist in foam cutting, velvet lining, folding, glueing and finishing.
- Conduct batch quality checks and dimension verification.
Paper Bags
- Support layout creation, gusset and base construction.
- Supervise printing, cutting, folding and handle installation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Follow QC protocols across all phases.
- Verify print clarity, alignment, structural stability and client-approved specifications.
- Follow safety and environmental guidelines.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Recommend new materials, box styles and production techniques.
- Assist in resolving production inefficiencies and design–production conflicts.
- Participate in internal creative training sessions for staff.
Teamwork & Reporting
- Work as a technical support officer to the Creative Manager.
- Collaborate with designers, production staff, sales, procurement and logistics.
- Provide timely reports on structural issues, material usage and production observations.

Who Should Apply

- Skilled in technical drawing, fine art, engineering drawing, or spatial planning
- Comfortable with measurements, structure, and hands-on work
- Curious, analytical and good at breaking things down into components
- Teachable and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Able to think visually and technically at the same time
Qualifications:
- Degree/HND/OND in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, Fine Art, Urban Planning, or any field involving technical drawing and structural reasoning
- 0–2 years post-NYSC (or recent graduates)
- Experienced in drawing structural plans
- Ability to use Plotter and/or CAD software is an added advantage.
