    Back of House Manager

    Role Summary

    • As the back-end manager, your role is to support the functioning of the space, people, and systems at Thai Thai.
    • This is a new role, which means that we will be shaping it as we go along.
    • Historically, these tasks have been performed sporadically by managing directors.
    • However, we are distilling it into one singular role.

    Key Responsibilities
    Staff Welfare and Upholding the Office Manual / HR:

    You would be in charge of the overall welfare of team members. It would include the following but would not be limited to:

    • Making sure tips and service charge are disbursed accordingly
    • Keeping track of employee loans, employee annual leave, employee sick days etc.
    • Keeping record of staff uniforms, loss of company items etc.
    • Keeping track of staff infractions
    • Presenting upper-level management with your thoughts and ideas for improvement based on your record keeping.
    • Keeping HR Policy up to date as the company grows and evolves.
    • Mainly, you’re staying on top of these things!

    Maintenance:

    • A restaurant is a dynamic space - this means that things change quickly and require consistent upkeep. Your main responsibility would be to ensure that the entire space is running efficiently.

    Your responsibilities can look like:

    • Making sure all electricals, plumbing, aesthetics etc. are maintained to their regular standard both inside and outside the kitchen.
    • Making sure that any items for maintenance upkeep are ordered and kept in store.

    Procurement and Inventory:

    • It is important to make sure that the restaurant is well stocked with the ingredients and supplies that it needs to ensure it’s efficient running.
    • Your role would be to ensure that all the goods required for the restaurant reach it on time, are of high quality and that you are price conscious while sourcing these items.
    • An important part of this role would be to check to see where you might be able to reduce costs by finding other suppliers.
    • Prior background information: Currently, a large part of our inventory system is done on paper. We would work together to upgrade this system.

    Special Project and Event Execution:

    • A requirement of running a restaurant in the long term is to ensure that customers are kept satisfied and excited.
    • From time to time, we might introduce new bar or food programs, update back-end systems to improve efficiency or redesign elements in the space.
    • Your role would be to support management in these tasks as and when they come about.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years experience as a problem solver and supply chain, maintenance, or logistics expert
    • Attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills
    • A sound understanding of technology
    • Flexible and focused on solutions.
