Assistant Quality Assurance Manager at Golden Oil Industries Limited

Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer, conduct sample, test, and inspect the quality of raw materials, work in-progress Production Lines and final product to assure that Quality Assurance procedures are properly followed as per regulatory requirement to meet customer expectations.

Job Details

Quality Control 

• Effectiveness of conducting, sampling, and testing of raw materials, in-progress production and final production monitoring and control to assure that Quality Assurance procedure.
• Devise and review specifications of products to meet quality standards and ensure fortification process as per regulatory requirement or processes.
• Ensure food safety, security, and sanitation systems are maintained in accordance with cGMP, cGWP, HACCP, and other guidelines – conduct periodic inspections of facilities, equipment, practices, etc.
• Ensure adherence to all best practices to meet legal obligations.
• Supervise technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback.
• Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements.
• Supports Quality and Food Safety Management programs as needed.
• Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
• Checks on team throughout the day to be sure that any issues with equipment, personnel, material, safety, etc. are addressed promptly.
• Coaches and develops staff, while fostering a team atmosphere. Provides pep talks as needed and coaching for any performance issues.
• Assists employees with questions or problems they have regarding work assignments, priorities, safety, personnel issues, etc.
• Oversees training and orientation of new employees and offers additional training as needed. Offers re-training when necessary. Sets up and maintains cross training, as applicable.
• Set Performance expectation and target as well as  review all quality control employees’ performance. 
• Conduct safety and orientation training with new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
• Control and organize timesheets for quality control personnel.
• Set Performance expectation and target as well as  review all quality control employees’ performance. 
• Conduct monthly performance appraisals for all quality control employees and communicate information to HR and Executive Management

Requirements

• A Bachelor's (B.Eng. /B.Sc. / HND) degree in chemistry or Food Science is required for this role. 
• 8 years proven quality control work experience preferably in the Edible Oil Sector of which having a minimum 3 years in Supervisory capacity.
• Deep knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) and Experience in reporting on key Quality metrics
• Knowledge of laboratory instruments, sensory evaluation experience, good laboratory practiced (GLP) training. 
• Ability to accurately analyze samples and make disposition decision.
• Ability to effectively organize sample workload and prioritize analyzed.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Food safety trainings and awareness.
• Familiarity with HACCP, ISO AND SON compliance Guidelines
• Knowledge of business and management principles and practice
• Excellent supervision, communication (oral and written), business presentation, skills, Organization and leadership abilities, Self-motivated with a result driven approach, Problem- solving skill.
