Greenfield Consulting is currently recruiting for an Accountant for a client in the construction industry.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant is primarily responsible for the administration of financial accounts. Good management decisions rely heavily on accurate and timely presentation of financial information. The role is to be performed with high standards of service to external and internal stakeholders.

LOCATION: Ikosi Ketu, Lagos

JOB DESCRIPTION: He/she must be able to-

• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Document financial transactions by entering account information
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Secure financial information by completing data base backups
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
• Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
• Comply with Federal, State, and Local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc/MSc in Accounting
• ICAN certification as a Chartered Accountant
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Accountant in a reputable Construction Company or Engineering Firm is desirable
• Essential Attributes: Analytical skills, Eye for details, Well versed in Excel, PowerPoint and latest software
• Candidate must have Sound accounting fundamentals
• Must be trustworthy and dependable.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
