Job Summary

Account Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial record processing invoices, tracking receivables and payable, assisting with payroll, and supporting overall financial operations of the publishing company. This role requires attention to detail, integrity, and a strong understanding of accounting principles, with a focus on the unique financial processes associated with publishing such as royalty payment, book sales tracking, and Inventory valuation.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all financial transactions using Accounting software
• Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Track books sales across multiple platforms and channels.
• Assist in preparing and processing staff salaries, statutory deductions and remittances.
• Handle deposits and withdrawals and perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in balances.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with Inventory and production Units to ensure accurate cost and stock records. 
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal process including tax filing and audits requirements. 

 Qualification

• BSc. Or HND in Financial Accounting or Accountancy or in any related courses.
• Professional Qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum Experience; 2 years).
