    Account Officer

    Details:

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    • You are expected to report to the Manager, Finance and Accounts Department
    • You are expected to handle official transactions with the appointed banks of the organization.
    • You are expected to anchor the preparation of customers’ bills for payment and proper documentation.
    • Youáareáexpectedátoáprepareámonthlyábankáreconciliationástatement.
    • You are expected to monitor bank transactions and determine the status of each account.
    • You are expected to raise cheques and record same in the appropriate schedule.
    • You are expected to anchor the payment to all relevant parties- healthcare providers, suppliers, regulatory bodies etc. as approved by the Managing Director/CEO.
    • You are expected to regularly provide true liquidity position to the MD/CEO.
    • Youáareáexpectedátoáprepareámonthlyásalariesáandáissueáofápayáslips.
    • You are expected to anchor the documentation of all transactions in payment and journal vouchers and present same for the beneficiaries to endorse and the MD/CEO to approve accordingly.
    • You are expected to manage and properly disburse and report impress account in the head office and all other branch offices.
    • You are expected to handle general payment analysis to newly enlisted facilities for documentation by the medical team while generating their letters of introduction.
    • You are expected to ensure prompt submission of payment advice to all healthcare facilities online and hard copy on a monthly basis.
    • You are expected to ensure lodgement of all cash and cheques received promptly, latest within 24hours.
    • You are expected to anchor the payment of healthcare facilities both online and offline; and also confirmation of payment to all concerned.
    • You are expected to submit monthly report of activities to your manager.
    • You are expected to perform any additional duties as may be directed by your HOD and the Managing Director/CEO.

    Asides from the duties stated above, you are also required to collaborate with your manager, when necessary, in the following

    • Preparationáofámanagementáaccount
    • Constantly offer sound financial and investment opportunities advice to the management.
    • Safeguardátheácompany’sáassets/managementáofáfixedáassetáregister.
    • Monitoringáofábankátransactionsáandástatus.
    • Raisingáchequesáandárecordingásameáináappropriateáschedules.
    • Delegating duties to other staff in the Finance and Accounts department.
    • Regularárenditionáofábankápositions.
    • Preparation of company budget and proper monitoring of its implementation.
    • Preparationáofáannualáfinancialástatements.
    • Collaborate with the external auditors half year in the preparation of audited account for submission to the Managing Director/CEO.
    • Maintenanceáandámonitoringátheáimplementationáofáaccountingácontrol.
    • Liaising with FIRS, PFA’s, NHIS, HMCAN and other statutory bodies and ensure prompt and regular settlement of all payments to them.
    • Receive all payments due to the company, manage credits and receivables.
    • Generalámanagementáofátheáofficeáfinancialáactivities.
    • Ensureáthatánoápaymentáisámadeáoutáofácashátakings.
    • Ensure that payments are backed up by payment vouchers and supporting documents.
    • Check to ensure that loans and advances are properly approved and are retired in line with approved plan.

    Requirements

    • The candidate must have a University degree in Accounting or any other related discipline.
    • The candidate must have minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience and proven ICT skills in a reputable organization.
    • The candidate must possess reporting skills and good with figures.
    • Candidate must be able to use basic office tools and accounting software packages.
