CONSTRUCTION SUPERVIOSR – ASKIRA-UBA

Main Purpose
Overseeing the activities at a construction/rehabilitation job site and provide timely reports to supervisor of ALIMA according to ALIMA protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

Job Description
The Construction Supervisor must perform diverse tasks to ensure that construction projects are meeting deadlines, budget, quality, safety and environmental standards.

Scope of works

• Ensure technical specifications are followed
• Ensure that works are performed according to drawings

Deadlines

• Ensure that agreed schedule is followed
• Ensure that labour and equipment are on site as proposed by the contractor
• Ensure that materials are supplied timely according to works schedule

Budget

• Track any change that could enable works are performed under budget
• Justify any change that involves budget overrun

Quality

• Control quality by inspection and tests
• Ensure customer satisfaction is met

Safety

• Ensure that personnel are maintaining safe work practices and following state and local guidelines concerning building projects.
• Hold regular meetings with workers to review worksite safety.
• Waste and environmental management
• Ensure that all waste not reusable including concrete, lumber, soil, rocks, metal, paper or plastic bags, etc. are removed as soon as possible in order to have clean workplace.
• Ensure disposal sites are agreed by local government.
• Ensure indoor air quality remains acceptable anytime.

Meetings
Participate in kick-off meeting, daily meetings, weekly meetings and monthly meetings and send related reports to the Construction manager

Reports
Send daily, weekly and monthly meetings and status reports.

Requirements
Education
Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent

Experience

• At least five years of field experience
• Languages
• English, Hausa and Kanuri.
• Knowledge
• Good knowledge of any architecture software
• Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
