    Social Media Content Creator

    Job Summary

    • The role focuses on creating engaging video and written content for Pulse Nigeria's social media platforms.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop high-quality video content for Pulse Nigeria's social media platforms.
    • Create engaging captions, headlines, and descriptions that drive audience interaction.
    • Conduct research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and topics.
    • Create video content that resonate to the Pulse Nigeria audience to maximize engagement and reach
    • Monitor interactions on the Pulse Nigeria page to create timely content in a professional manner
    • Track and analyze engagement metrics (e.g., likes, comments, shares, etc.) to measure content performance.
    • Provide regular reporting on content and social media performance.
    • Use data to inform future content and social media strategies.
    • Become an advocate for the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
    • Demonstrate ability to map out marketing strategies and then drive that strategy proven by testing and metrics.
    • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
    • Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding the business - Report notable threats to appropriate management.
    • Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns.
    • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximise results.
    • Collaborate with other teams: Editorial, Video, and Sales teams to achieve company wide goals.
    • Manage Social Media campaigns and day-to-day activities in line with KPIs including:
    • Community management - daily spam check across all the channels and other commenting systems.
    • Approve comments when necessary & quick response/monitoringof comments following the standard guidelines.
    • Monitor trends and happenings across channels using social media tools such as; Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc. and ensure time-to-market for the content distribution is efficient.
    • Complete reports - social media weekly, general weekly online marketing report and traffic analysis report when necessary.
    • Complete Experiment briefs for tests conducted and properly documented in the marketing folder.
    • Create posts for special campaigns (clients) when necessary on all social media channels and compile reports for analysis.
    • Proper implementation of specification and structure document - to be used as a guide for all posts and updated when necessary.
    • Ensure proper distribution of all content types across assigned channels.
    • Ensure all social media posts are correctly UTM tagged for tracking.
    • Develop new social media strategies & ideas with proper implementation of these strategies for the growth of the brands.
    • Event coverage for Pulse Nigeria & Pulse clients based on communicated briefs; cover events highlights and distribute content across relevant channels & provide performance Reports.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media management
    • Understanding of Social Media Strategy
    • Content editing, and basic knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Capcut)
    • Understanding of major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok)
    • Communication Skills
    • Analytical Skills
    • Customer Service Skills
    • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Sprout Social).

    Job Responsibilities
    Strategic Management and Innovation:

    • Develop new video ideas and concepts that align with the Pulse Picks brand.
    • Collaborate with the social media manager to align on the monthly content calendar.

    Content Creation and Production:

    • Produce, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for various platforms.
    • Write compelling scripts through thorough research and storytelling.

    Platform Optimization:

    • Adapt videos to meet the specific requirements and trends of each social media platform.

    Category-Specific Content Management:

    • Create content across multiple categories eg Lifestyle, food, beauty, tech etc.
    • Experiment with new content formats and styles to keep the content fresh and appealing.

    Performance Analysis:

    • Monitor video performance metrics and use insights to improve content strategies and engagement.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with the creative and editorial teams to ensure video content supports broader team objectives and promotions.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth project execution and alignment.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Social Media Content Creator or similar role.
    • Strong creative and storytelling skills.
    • Ability to record and edit SM content on recent smartphone 
    • Proficient in creating static/GIF content using tools like Canva.
    • Proficient in using social media management tools and analytics platforms.
    • Knowledge of current trends in social media and digital marketing.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
