    SME Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prospect new clients and assist them for loan applications.
    • To analyse and interpret financial statements of the business in order to access the repayment capacity and financial soundness of the borrower.
    • Conducts loan appraisal and collects detailed information (personal, business, and guaranties) and arranges to open a new loan account.
    • Prepares and executes loan contracts and arrange for disbursement of loan in kind.
    • Have good knowledge about guidelines of the regulatory body and be able to prepare loan reports for internal and external use.
    • Monitors the loan and follows up on the timely repayment.
    • Maintain contact and maintain good relationships with clients.
    • Ensure full compliance with all in-place Baobab policies & procedures and with audit recommendations.

    Position scope:

    • SME Loan Officer is responsible for processing loan applications for SME and corporate clients, as well as monitoring the loan portfolio.

    Skills and Specification

    • Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Finance or Accounting
    • 1 - 2 years prior experience in the credit department in commercial banks or any financial sector.
    • Prior experience in Microfinance banking will be an added advantage
    • Organisational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Negotiation and internal relationship building.
    • Sound written and verbal English communication skills.
    • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Analysis and reporting skills.
    • Proficient typing skills.
    • Problem solving and decision making.
    • Applicants must reside within Lagos.

    Customer Service Officer

    Locations: Abah Road, Port Harcourt - Rivers and Okigwe Road, Aba - Abia
    Employment Type: Full-time
    Reports To: Customer Service Supervisor

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the proper functioning and administration of operational activities in the Branch.
    • Contribute to the profitability of the branch.
    • Portray a good image of the institution whilst attending to clients in a timely and professional manner.
    • Input credit applications, updates, documentation, input data on T24 on time, prepare and print different loan documents, input the CSR forms, prepare and print the different daily reports and documents used by the operational teams, Ensure all accounts are funded as directed by the Credit committee.
    • Input data from credit files, print the various legal documents, manage the till box, disburse loans, file legal documents, give advice to clients on adaptable products.
    • Keep till box in accordance with the procedures in place, ensure discrete archiving process of legal documents of the branch, regularly carry out inventories of assets and stock of the branch, identify needs of repair/replacement and communicate them to the person in charge within the shortest possible time, Manage the database of photos (client, signature, guarantors) make client ID cards.
    • All other tasks requested by the direct supervisor or overall line managers.

    Training / Experience

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years work experience.
      Experience in business in the computer input required
    • Experience in Logistics and management of till box.

    Loan Officer

    Roles & Responsibilities
    Pre-loan Disbursement:

    • Promote / market Baobab’s products to prospective clients.
    • Visit and evaluate potential client businesses.
    • Visit client’s personal house.
    • Visit Co-debtor, guarantor’s house and businesses.
    • Analyze financial data of clients’ businesses.
    • Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data of client businesses and households
    • Prepare loan documents for Credit Committee.
    • Present loan files to Credit Committee.
    • Enter loan files in the MIS.

    Post-loan Disbursement:

    • Conduct monitoring visits to businesses and households.
    • Follow-up on loan repayment.
    • Manage loan recovery from active and write-off clients until the last.
    • Assess the impact of a loan before renewal.

    Profile and Requirements

    • Education: HND / B.Sc qualification.
    • Basic Knowledge in Accounting, Finance and Mathematics.
    • Previous work experience or training in sales (preferred).
    • Applicants must be between the age of 20 - 35 years.

    Required Skills:
