    Tailor / Sewing and Production Staff

    Description

    • Instant Tailoring Service is expanding our core fashion business into the specialized field of professional and industrial attire.
    • We are committed to providing precision tailoring, alterations, and production services for high-quality medical and clinical wear (scrubs, lab coats, theatre wear), security uniforms, and various industrial garments.
    • We are seeking a dedicated and skilled tailor to join our growing team and help us establish a reputation for excellence in this new sector.

    The Role

    • We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Tailor to manage aspects of fitting, and customising professional workwear, as well as contributing to in-house production runs of specific uniform items.
    • This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a range of fabrics and garment types, from standard cotton scrubs to durable industrial materials.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Production: Support small-to-large scale in-house production runs of standardized uniform components (e.g., specific scrub designs or lab coats), including cutting fabric, assembling garments, and finishing according to company patterns and quality standards.
    • Customization & Monogramming: Operate monogramming and embroidery machinery (training provided if necessary, but experience is a plus) for corporate branding and personalization of shirts and uniforms.
    • Fittings: Conduct professional and efficient fittings with medical, clinical, and security personnel, accurately taking measurements and pinning garments for alteration.
    • Quality Control: Ensure all finished work meets the high standards of durability and professional appearance required for clinical and industrial environments.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure all machinery (sewing machines, overlockers, pressing equipment) is in excellent working order.
    • Inventory Management: Assist in managing stock of common tailoring supplies (thread, zips, buttons, interfacing) and fabric inventory for production.
    • Client Communication: Provide excellent customer service during fittings, offering expert advice on fit and potential alterations.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a professional tailor, seamstress, (minimum [e.g., 1 year experience preferred).
    • Expert proficiency with industrial sewing machines, overlockers, and other tailoring equipment.
    • Strong knowledge of garment construction, patterns, and fabric types, particularly durable workwear materials.
    • Experience with basic pattern cutting and garment assembly techniques required for production responsibilities.
    • Must be based on the mainland part of Lagos.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all work.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
    • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a small team.
    • Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads and specific client deadlines.

    Desired (But Not Required) Qualifications:

    • Experience withIndustrial ,manual andcommercial embroiderymachines.
    • Previous experience specifically tailoring.

    Private Driver

    Responsibilities

    • Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip.
    • Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions.
    • Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed.
    • Take kids to school and back
    • Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders.
    • Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues.
    • Maintain the car and detailing services to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the car.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 3 - 10 years experience.
    • Proven experience as a Driver.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • A clean driving record.
    • Familiarity with GPS devices.
    • Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods.
    • Someone around Lekki/Ajah is preferred.
