Quantity Surveyor - Building at Craneburg Construction Company

Description

• We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team.
• The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in building construction projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, or high-rise developments).
• You will handle cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, and financial control from pre-construction through to project close-out, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for building projects at various stages (feasibility, concept design, detailed design, tender, and construction).
• Perform quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and engineering drawings/specifications to determine material, labour, and subcontractor requirements.
• Develop and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and procurement strategies.
• Evaluate tenders, analyse bids, negotiate with contractors/subcontractors, and recommend awards to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks; provide advice on cost-saving measures, alternative materials/methods, and value engineering.
• Conduct site visits to measure progress, verify work done, assess material usage, and ensure compliance with specifications and budgets.
• Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial summaries for clients/project managers.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to provide commercial advice and resolve issues.
• Ensure projects comply with building regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
