Project Manager – Energy (Grid & Alternative Energy) at Pan African Towers Limited

• At Pan African Towers, we're transitioning our tower portfolio to cleaner, At Pan African Towers, we're transitioning our portfolio to cleaner, more resilient power, and we're looking for a Project Manager – Energy to lead the end-to-end planning, deployment, and management of alternative energy systems — grid, solar PV, hybrid, battery storage, and gas generator technologies.

What you'll own:

• Develop and execute a site-specific alternative energy roadmap to cut diesel consumption across PAT's estate.
• Conduct site energy audits, load profiling, and feasibility studies for solar, hybrid, and battery storage solutions.
• Design the optimal energy mix (Solar + Lithium-ion + Genset) based on site class, grid availability, and tenancy ratio.
• Prepare CAPEX/OPEX models and ROI projections for management approval.
• Manage end-to-end deployment across greenfield and brownfield tower sites — coordinating Civil, RF, Operations, and external contractors for zero-downtime installations.
• Procure and manage inventory: solar panels, inverters, charge controllers, BESS, and remote monitoring systems.
• Oversee commissioning, performance testing, and handover to operations.
• Monitor real-time energy data via our NOC and lead root cause analysis on underperforming sites.
• Track the KPIs that matter: Site Uptime (≥99.5%), diesel reduction, battery autonomy, and energy cost per site.
• Negotiate SLAs with grid firms, battery OEMs, and energy software providers; liaise with colocation tenants on energy billing and availability clauses.

What we're looking for:

• B.Sc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Renewable Energy (PMP/Master's preferred)
• 5–8 years in energy project management, with at least 4 years specifically in telecom towerco, ISP, or utility-scale solar/hybrid deployments. 
• 50+ off-grid, grid, or hybrid sites deployed from conception to commissioning
• Deep knowledge of solar PV design, battery tech (LFP/NMC, VRLA), and hybrid controllers
• Familiarity with Nigerian grid and diesel logistics challenges
• Proficient in Excel, Power BI, or Python for energy data analysis
