    Project Coordinator, Financial Inclusion

    About The Role

    • The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is leading a multi-stakeholder consortium to implement an initiative, aiming to creating dignified and fulfilling work for Nigerian youth under 35 years across agrifood value chains. The programme specifically aims to reach and benefit young women, persons with disabilities and internally displaced persons.
    • GAIN is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator, Financial Inclusion to drive access to affordable and inclusive finance, credit, and digital payment systems for youth and women agribusiness under the programme. The role facilitates partnerships with banks, FinTechs, and insurers to design tailored financial products, credit guarantee, blended finance, de-risk youth lending, and promote financial literacy across cooperatives and MSMEs.
    • By integrating savings, insurance, and digital payment systems within agrifood operations, the coordinator ensures that programme participants transition from subsistence to sustainable enterprise. The position directly links financial empowerment to dignified work creation, improving capital flow, resilience, and profitability within rural economies while advancing.

    Key Responsibilities Include.

    • Coordinate planning and execute the Financial Inclusion component of the programme in alignment with programme goals, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Facilitate the design and rollout of inclusive financial products (e.g., youth-friendly credit, input financing, micro-insurance, and digital savings platforms).
    • Coordinate the delivery of financial literacy and business management training to cooperatives, MSMEs, and youth entrepreneurs.
    • Support development of de-risking mechanisms such as credit guarantees or blended finance schemes in collaboration with financial institutions.
    • Promote integration of digital payment solutions and mobile money into agricultural value chain transactions.
    • Track access to finance indicators (loans disbursed, repayment rates, insurance uptake, savings group performance, etc.) through digital monitoring systems.
    • Strengthen financial governance within youth cooperatives to improve transparency, accountability, and creditworthiness.
    • Build partnerships with commercial banks, microfinance institutions, fintech companies, and insurance providers to expand rural financial access.

    About You

    • The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in financial inclusion, microfinance, or agricultural finance programme implementation, with a strong understanding of how financial services can support underserved populations and small-scale enterprises.
    • They should have a proven track record in developing and managing partnerships with banks, fintech companies, and insurance providers to expand access to inclusive financial products and services. Familiarity with digital finance ecosystems and financial technology tools is essential, particularly in leveraging digital platforms to improve efficiency, outreach, and financial service delivery.
    • In addition, the candidate should have practical experience managing financial inclusion platforms such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and cooperatives, supporting their growth, governance, and sustainability.
    • Experience in youth and women's economic empowerment initiatives is highly desirable, particularly in programmes aimed at improving financial access and entrepreneurship opportunities.
    • Prior experience working on donor-funded projects, including compliance with reporting requirements and financial accountability, will also be important for ensuring effective programme implementation and stakeholder confidence.

    Project Coordinator, Processing and Manufacturing

    About The Role

The programme specifically aims to reach and benefit young women, persons with disabilities and internally displaced persons.
    • GAIN is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator, Processing and Manufacturing to strengthen value addition, agro-industrialization, and local manufacturing capacity within the programme value chains.
    • The role oversees shared processing hubs, quality control systems, and SME training on food safety and compliance. By connecting processors to finance, inputs, and markets, the Project Coordinator ensures youth-led enterprises adopt competitive, profitable, and sustainable production models.
    • This position promotes mechanized, energy-efficient processing technologies and builds capacity on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards. Through technical mentoring, enterprise upgrading, and process innovation, the role expands dignified off-farm jobs in packaging, food transformation, and equipment servicing, bridging primary production with Nigeria's growing agro-industrial and nutritional markets.


    Key Responsibilities Include.

    • Plan and coordinate the Processing and Manufacturing components of the programme, ensuring activities align with project goals, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Oversee establishment and management of shared processing hubs, aggregation centers, and small-scale manufacturing clusters.
    • Facilitate enterprise diagnostics to identify capacity gaps, compliance challenges, and equipment needs of youth-led processing businesses.
    • Support development and implementation of quality assurance frameworks, including GMP, HACCP, and food traceability systems.
    • Ensure processing and manufacturing activities integrate environmental sustainability and energy efficiency practices.
    • Support the Technical Integration Manager in aligning processing outcomes with market demand, supply chain efficiency, and employment targets.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as NAFDAC, SON, NAQS and state ministries to facilitate product registration and compliance certification.
    • Represent the Processing and Manufacturing component at consortium, stakeholder, and technical working group meetings.

    About You

    • The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in agro-processing, manufacturing, food safety, or enterprise development, with a strong understanding of the operational and technical aspects of processing industries.
    • They should possess a proven track record in strengthening SME competitiveness, including experience in business incubation, enterprise support, or the management of processing clusters that enhance productivity, market access, and innovation.
    • Experience working with small and medium-sized enterprises to improve efficiency, compliance, and growth within agricultural or industrial value chains will be highly valuable.

    • Build partnerships with innovation hubs, universities, business accelerators, and development agencies to strengthen youth enterprise ecosystems.
    • Coordinate technical partnerships with digital firms, agritech developers, and knowledge institutions to support innovation delivery.
    • Develop and deliver training on entrepreneurship, business model design, innovation management, and digital skills.

    About You

    • The ideal candidate should have experience in entrepreneurship development, innovation management, or MSME support programmes. You demonstrate experience working with start-ups, accelerators, or digital transformation initiatives with a track record of supporting youth-led enterprises.
    • The position holder should have strong project management experience implementing innovation grant schemes and familiarity with agribusiness ecosystems and value chain development.
