Project Coordinator, Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is leading a multi-stakeholder consortium to implement an initiative, aiming to creating dignified and fulfilling work for Nigerian youth under 35 years across agrifood value chains. The programme specifically aims to reach and benefit young women, persons with disabilities and internally displaced persons.
GAIN is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator, Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation to drive the creation of youth-led agribusinesses and start-ups that promote innovation within Nigeria's agrifood sector. The role oversees incubation, mentorship, and access-to-finance initiatives that transform innovative ideas into viable and scalable enterprises.
Working with innovation hubs, accelerators, and technical partners, the Project Coordinator supports training on business modelling, digital transformation, and sustainable enterprise growth. This position embeds entrepreneurship within every value-chain node, production, processing, logistics, and marketing. By fostering innovation, creativity, and leadership, the role propels systemic change and anchors the programme's legacy of youth-driven economic transformation.
Key Responsibilities include.
Coordinate planning and execution of the programme's youth entrepreneurship and innovation components.
Facilitate access to mentorship, coaching, and business development services (BDS) for emerging entrepreneurs.
Support the design and management of innovation challenges, hackathons, and pitch events that promote agrifood solutions.
Work with partners to identify and scale digital tools that improve productivity, traceability, and market access.
Build partnerships with innovation hubs, universities, business accelerators, and development agencies to strengthen youth enterprise ecosystems.
Coordinate technical partnerships with digital firms, agritech developers, and knowledge institutions to support innovation delivery.
Develop and deliver training on entrepreneurship, business model design, innovation management, and digital skills.
About You
The ideal candidate should have experience in entrepreneurship development, innovation management, or MSME support programmes. You demonstrate experience working with start-ups, accelerators, or digital transformation initiatives with a track record of supporting youth-led enterprises.
The position holder should have strong project management experience implementing innovation grant schemes and familiarity with agribusiness ecosystems and value chain development.
