A Welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using welding machines and torches that emits high heat and solder / melting the metal into shape. Their duties include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal into the appropriate shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases among other things
Description
Maintains a thorough knowledge of universal standards and specifications in order to meet maintenance requirements
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment and method based on requirements
Set up components by cutting material with machine for welding according to specifications
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using callipers, rulers and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, in a clear, effective and professional manner.
Promote safety by working adhering to company safety guidelines; which includes but is not limited to the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to work in confined spaces
Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
Report day to day activities to Supervisor and Manager.
Requirements
0 to 2 experience as welder
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, callipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Deftness and attention to detail
Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
Installer are to be skilled in reading and interpreting assembly instructions and blueprints, use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to assemble and install furniture pieces such as office product, kitchen cabinet, wardrobe and the likes
Properly and safely assemble, install and or disassemble furniture meeting quality standards and customers specifications.
Frequently assist with unloading the furniture and delivering to the client’s office.
You will be responsible for measuring and marking the placement of furniture items to ensure accurate installation.
Operate in an organized and safe manner.
Installer carry out quality checks in ensuring that the furniture is assembled and installed correctly to meet all safety standards.
Installer inspect and flag any defects, missing parts, or damage and take appropriate action to rectify the issues.
Stay on pace, think ahead as you work, be efficient and productive, and eliminate wasted time.
Respect customers’ surroundings, act professionally and always be aware that you are working in their space.
Maintain tools and equipment; use the correct tool for the job.
Operate safely, be aware of hazardous conditions, report all unsafe conditions to the manager; wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses) when operating power tools.
Communicate with customers to inform, build trust and confidence, resolve issues, and enhance their overall experience.
Assist with other tasks as needed. Build positive and productive relationships with clients for business growth.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 1 - 3 years work experience.
Your knowledge of measuring tapes, levels, and other tools use in ensuring proper alignment and positioning of furniture is key
