    Product Manager - Lubricants

    Job Summary

    • The Product Manager – Lubricants is responsible for the development, management, and growth of the lubricant product line. 
    • This includes market analysis, product innovation, sales strategy, and customer engagement to drive revenue growth and competitive advantage. 
    • The role requires a deep understanding of lubricant formulations, industry regulations, and market dynamics within Nigeria's oil and gas sector.

    Key Responsibilities
    Product Strategy & Development:

    • Develop and execute the lubricant product roadmap in alignment with company objectives.
    • Oversee new product development (NPD), formulation improvements, and packaging design.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, SAE, OEM approvals, SON, NMDPRA, DPR).
    • Work with R&D and supply chain teams to enhance product quality and cost efficiency.

    Market Research & Competitive Analysis:

    • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitor strategies.
    • Analyze product performance and recommend enhancements to drive sales growth.
    • Develop pricing strategies based on market demand, competitor analysis, and cost structure.

    Sales & Business Development Support:

    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop go-to-market strategies and meet revenue targets.
    • Provide technical product training to sales teams, distributors, and key customers.
    • Identify and develop new B2B and B2C market opportunities for lubricant products.

    Brand Positioning & Marketing:

    • Work with the marketing team to develop product messaging, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
    • Implement trade marketing and customer engagement strategies to increase brand awareness.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, and exhibitions to promote lubricants.

    Supply Chain & Operations Management:

    • Ensure efficient inventory management, production planning, and distribution.
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to source base oils, additives, and packaging materials.
    • Optimize logistics to minimize stock shortages and ensure product availability.

    Compliance & Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all lubricants meet regulatory and industry certification requirements.
    • Work with regulatory bodies to obtain and maintain necessary product approvals.

    Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales volume, market share, and customer feedback.
    • Prepare reports and insights for senior management decision-making.
    • Continuously improve product offerings based on market trends and performance data.

    Key Requirements
    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in lubricant product management, sales, or technical roles within the oil & gas sector.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong technical knowledge of lubricants, additives, and industry applications.
    • Expertise in market analysis, pricing strategy, and product positioning.
    • Solid experience in B2B and B2C sales, distributor management, and customer engagement.
    • Strong project management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute data-driven strategies for product growth.

    Head of Retail (Oil & Gas)

    Job Summary

    • The Head of Retail is responsible for leading and managing the retail business operations of the company’s oil and gas downstream sector.
    • This includes overseeing fuel station operations, driving sales and revenue growth, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining regulatory compliance. 
    • The role requires strategic leadership, business development expertise, and strong people management skills to optimize the company’s retail footprint and market positioning.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:

    • Develop and implement a retail growth strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
    • Identify new market opportunities and expand the company's retail network across Nigeria.
    • Lead brand positioning efforts to enhance market share and customer engagement.

    Sales & Revenue Optimization:

    • Drive fuel, lubricant, and non-fuel retail sales to meet revenue and profitability targets.
    • Implement competitive pricing strategies and sales promotions.
    • Monitor market trends and adjust business strategies accordingly.

    Retail Operations Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all retail outlets, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
    • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for service stations.
    • Implement effective inventory management to minimize losses and stock shortages.

    Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure all retail stations comply with DPR, NMDPRA, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at all outlets.
    • Conduct periodic audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

    Customer Experience & Service Quality:

    • Establish high customer service standards to enhance the consumer experience.
    • Implement customer feedback mechanisms and loyalty programs.
    • Ensure proper training of retail staff to maintain excellent service delivery.

    Financial & Budgetary Management:

    • Develop and oversee budgets and financial forecasts for retail operations.
    • Monitor financial performance, ensuring cost control and profitability.
    • Optimize retail margins through effective cost management and operational efficiencies.

    Leadership & Team Development:

    • Lead, train, and develop a high-performing retail operations team.
    • Set performance targets and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.

    Key Requirements
    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
    • 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas downstream sector, with at least 5 years in a senior retail management role.
    • Proven track record in managing multiple retail outlets and driving sales performance.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong business development and negotiation skills.
    • Expertise in fuel retail operations, sales, and marketing strategies.
    • Solid knowledge of Nigerian petroleum regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profit & loss management.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
    • Ability to analyze market trends and adapt to industry changes.
    • Work Environment & Other Details:
    • Frequent travel to retail locations across Nigeria.
    • Fast-paced, high-pressure environment requiring proactive decision-making.
