    Principal Piping Engineer

    Job Description

    • Understand all the jobs of Level 3 and be able to do the following additional functions/jobs
    • Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable. Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
    • Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel.
    • Helps to define discipline design organization and participation on a project, including scope of work, design criteria, schedules, standards, and procedures.
    • Prepare reliable CTRs (man-hour) and budget estimates for proposals and tenders.
    • Engaged in inter-discipline Squad check of design deliverables and be able manage discipline interfaces.
    • Provides technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants. This may include obtaining the services of consultants.
    • Must have two or more special skill/knowledge based areas either in mechanical or piping designs and engineering.
    • Assist project management group in providing relevant discipline inputs to Project's Design & Execution Plan, Schedule, Cost Estimating, Progress Measurement & Reporting, etc)
    • Very conversant with design Codes and Standards and be able to apply them in design and specification writing. (API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, AWS, etc)
    • Participate actively in technical review and HAZOP/Constructability meetings
    • Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.

    Job Specific Knowledge:

    • Working knowledge of the latest applicable engineering codes and standards, design practices and design quality standards.
    • Proficient experience in the Offshore/Onshore orientated Oil and Gas environment.
    • Sound knowledge of Piping drawing and office produced deliverables
    • Application of knowledge to add value,
    • Proficient knowledge of Equipment design, specification and procurement activities, Understanding and implementation of engineering and design process, General software and analytical skills, Designs for constructability, commissioning, operations and maintenance, etc

    Industry Specific Experience:

    • Minimum 15 years of related working experience, including supervisory experience
    • Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional society .

    Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.

    HSE Capability:

    IT Skills:

    • Proficiency in utilizing PC and various computer engineering applications software is required (including CAD, Microstation CAD systems if applicable)

    Principal Instrumentation Engineer

    Job Description

    • Enforce company policies, use of work practices, guidelines, relevant codes, recommended practices, regulatory and project standards to attain proficiency in the design development.
    • Design advanced process control and instrumentation, safety and integrated communications system deliverables, specify DCS, ESD, Fire Systems, analysers, networks and define interface requirements.
    • Provide procurement support by preparing Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and reviewing vendor documentation for compliance and sub-contract approval. 
    • Develop design deliverables including control philosophy, system architecture, layout & functional specification system load calculations, cause & effect logic, SIL determination
    • Ensure discipline scope of work is executed in coordination with other disciplines and completed satisfactorily within scope, quality, schedule and budget, defined by the Project Management Plan
    • Provide technical direction and coordination for instruments personnel under direct supervision by reviewing deliverables to ensure conformance to engineering quality & technical accuracy. Promote and maintain standards & procedures to improve discipline group working practices.
    • Supervise scope and schedule changes in accordance with the change control process utilizing the tools and mechanisms provided by both Quality and Enterprise Management Systems

    Job Specific Knowledge: 

    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of fundamentals of process control, Instrumentation design and analysis, hydraulic, pneumatic, hydro-pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, electrical relay and modern programmable electronic control systems, intrinsic safety, Industry Codes and Standards. Experienced in the specification, evaluation and documentation of electronic / pnuematic field instrumentation, control and communication network protocols     
    • Familiarity with originating, reviewing and checking documentation for technical accuracy, precision and consistency including Architectural, ESD Logic, Hook-Up and Termination Diagrams, Schematics, Loops, Cause & Effect / SAFE Charts, Equipment Layouts, Cable Schedules, Indexes, MTO, I/O Lists, Datasheets, Control Philosophies and Specs.

    Industry Specific Experience:

    • 10 years post qualification experience as a discipline engineer in the oil & gas industry with not less than 3 years offshore field experience inclusive

    Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electrical / Electronics or Computer Engineering OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physics and Distinctions in GCE ‘O’ Level in English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and/or Further/ Additional Mathematics

    Senior Instrumentation Engineer

    Job Description

    Project Engineer

    Job Description

    • Provides input to the development of engineering scope, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain those schedules and budgets.
    • Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the Project with other Project Engineers.  Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical and project support groups within the Company.
    • May assist the assigned Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of the technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.  Helps determine the technical skills and staff hours required.
    • Ensures all engineering disciplines comply with client criteria, scope, Basis of Design and application of regulations and codes.    Understands the client's business goals and objectives in order to enhance the project work.
    • Prepares technical reports, and execution plans for sub-project activities, workshop charter, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the client and management. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and stewards Issues and Action items to ensure timely closure.
    • Review subcontractor / vendors documentation – plans and procedures, technical specifications. Etc.
    • Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to engineering and other disciplines
    • Ensures compliance with EMS, as well as application of change control process
    • Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

    Job Specific Knowledge: 

    • Able to work independently in all situations within his/her respective engineering specialty.
    • Strong technical writing skills for original defense of engineering decisions and recommendations.
    • Capable of providing original technical engineering and/or engineering management expertise in one or more of the listed project areas for their specialty.
    • Skilled knowledge of Client Relationships, Commercial and Scope Management, Quality and Design Management, Cost Control, Procurement/Subcontracts Management, Construction Management etc.

    Industry Specific Experience:

    • 7 - 10 years of experience with degree from a recognized institution and 2 or more years in current position.

    Project Planner

    Job Description

    • Develop and maintain the project schedule
    • Analyse engineering and design status and make recommendations
    • Analyse material and equipment delivery status and make recommendations
    • Analyse the performance of subcontractor and make recommendations
    • Establish logics, strategies and all links in project schedule
    • Development and implementation of progress/performance evaluation reports
    • Prepare construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning detail planning for the contract scope
    • Prepare estimates where required
    • Responsible to ensure that the potential of all contributing factors such as climate, geographic locations, cultural influences (e.g. Ramadan), local skill levels etc. are analyzed and incorporated into the construction schedule

    • Manages one or more of the larger disciplines within the Project Controls unit such as Cost or Planning/Scheduling, or may manage all functions as Department Manager.  Utilizes: widely diversified experience in project controls activities within the assigned discipline(s); proven leadership; a strong working knowledge of all industry practices; strong technical expertise; computer literacy in typical project controls software.

    Industry Specific Experience:

    • 5 - 10 years of applicable experience.  Also, experience with typical project controls activity, demonstrated effective managerial experience, and computer literacy, is preferred.

    Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

    • BA/BS in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent
