    Maritime Academy Lecturer

    Description

    • Sealearn is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer in Maritime Studies to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials and industry experience. This role involves teaching, curriculum development, creation and delivery of
    • simulation and practical exercises, research, mentoring and contributing to the academic and professional growth of the institution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, review, and update curriculum to meet regulatory standards (e.g., IMO/STCW) and industry trends.
    • Prepare Courseware including presentations, simulation exercises and practical mockups, keeping in mind the pedagogy of learning, to enable top quality transfer of knowledge and skills to the learner.
    • Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions in subjects such as navigation / marine engineering, , maritime safety, cargo operations / repair and maintenance, commercial operations, environmental protection and related disciplines.
    • Monitor and oversee courseware developed by Junior faculty and provide feedback and guidance towards their improvement.
    • Supervise student projects, dissertations, and assessments.
    • Engage in research and writing articles for reputed journals and publications relevant to the maritime field. Deliver presentations at reputed seminars and conferences that enhances the image of SeaLearn.
    • Provide mentorship and academic guidance to junior faculty and students.
    • Participate in internal committees, quality assurance processes, and accreditation activities.
    • Collaborate with maritime industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to enhance training relevance and employability of graduates.
    • Contribute to the development and delivery of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programs.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Recognized professional certification Master Class I or Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate of Competency (e.g., Master Mariner, Chief Engineer) from a reputed Flag administration.
    • A master’s degree or PhD in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related field, is an advantage.
    • Holds certificate of an Administration approved Train the Trainer course / Train the
    • Simulator Trainer course and Assessment, Examination and Certification of Seafarers course
    • Minimum of 20 years of experience in maritime education and/or seagoing or shore-based maritime industry roles.
    • Strong understanding of international maritime regulations including (STCW Proven teaching and curriculum development experience at a higher education level.
    • Preferably has attended an Instructional Design training course.
    • Experience in academic research or industry-driven projects is an advantage.

    Analyst (Marketing, Recruitment & Admission)

    Job Purpose

    • The Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions Officer is responsible for supporting SeaLearn's student recruitment, admissions, marketing, and enrolment activities. The postholder will play a key role in attracting prospective students, converting enquiries into applications, guiding applicants through the admissions process, and securing student enrolments that contribute to SeaLearn's recruitment targets and commercial objectives.
    • The role requires a highly motivated individual with proven experience in student recruitment, customer relationship management, admissions administration, and marketing campaigns. Particular emphasis will be placed on the ability to successfully convert prospective students into enrolled and fee-paying learners.
    • Experience in maritime education, maritime training, shipping, seafarer development, or related industries would be highly advantageous.

    Key Responsibilities

    Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record of recruiting and converting students into enrolled and fee-paying learners, with evidence of achieving recruitment or sales targets.

    Student Recruitment and Conversion

    • Actively recruit students for SeaLearn programmes, professional courses, and maritime training programmes.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from prospective students, parents, sponsors, employers, and recruitment partners.
    • Guide prospective students through the full recruitment journey from initial enquiry to enrolment.
    • Conduct follow-up activities to maximise application, offer acceptance, fee payment, and enrolment conversion rates.
    • Maintain regular communication with applicants through telephone, email, social media, and other communication channels.
    • Achieve agreed recruitment, enrolment, and revenue targets.

    Admissions

    • Process applications accurately and efficiently in accordance with SeaLearn’s policies and procedures.
    • Review applicant documentation and verify admissions requirements.
    • Issue offers, admissions correspondence, and enrolment documentation.
    • Maintain accurate applicant and student records.
    • Support registration, joining, induction, and enrolment activities.

    Marketing and Lead Generation

    • Assist in planning and delivering marketing campaigns to promote SeaLearn programmes.
    • Create and distribute marketing content across digital and traditional channels.
    • Support social media, website, email marketing, and promotional activities.
    • Participate in education fairs, school visits, corporate visits, open days, exhibitions, webinars, and recruitment events.
    • Identify opportunities to increase student enquiries and applications.

    CRM and Data Management

    • Maintain accurate records within CRM and student information systems.
    • Track prospective students throughout the recruitment pipeline.
    • Monitor and action enquiry, application, offer, enrolment, and payment conversion rates.
    • Produce recruitment and admissions reports as required.
    • Use data and market intelligence to identify trends and improve recruitment performance.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Develop productive relationships with schools, colleges, maritime organisations, shipping companies, sponsors, employers, agents, and educational partners.
    • Represent SeaLearn professionally at external events and meetings.
    • Support the development of strategic recruitment partnerships.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Ensure consistent improvements in recruitment, admissions, and marketing processes.
    • Keep abreast of developments in higher education, maritime education, digital marketing, and student recruitment practices.
    • Support quality assurance and compliance requirements relating to admissions and recruitment activities.

    Requirements

    Essential Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Relevant qualification or training in marketing, business, communications, education, or a related discipline.

    Essential Experience

    • Experience in student recruitment, admissions, sales, customer relationship management, or business development.
    • Demonstrable experience of converting enquiries into applications, enrolments, and fee-paying students.
    • Experience of delivering recruitment campaigns and promotional activities.
    • Experience of working with CRM or student management systems.
    • Experience of maintaining accurate records and producing reports.

    Essential Knowledge and Skills

    • Ability to influence prospective students and support informed decision-making.
    • Strong organisational and administrative skills.

    • Experience within maritime education, maritime training, shipping, seafarer development, or a related sector.
    • Experience recruiting cadets, maritime students, or professional learners.
    • Knowledge of maritime qualifications, STCW training requirements, or higher education admissions processes.
    • Experience working with international student recruitment.
