    Hygiene Assistant

    Proposed start date: March 2022

    Work location: Potiskum, Yobe State

    Starting Gross Basic Salary: 183,056 NGN per month (excluding other benefits)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Hygiene officer in preparing training modules for the promotion of hygiene practices at household and communities;
    • Participate in developing teaching tools adapted to different audiences using different approaches; songs, role games, meetings, training courses;
    • Mobilize communities to adopt safe hygiene practices as promoted by the project (latrine construction, hand washing facilities, environmental cleanliness;
    • Participate in the process of beneficiaries’ selection to receive NFI assistance;
    • Work closely with the Hygiene officer in beneficiary registration;
    • Distribute Hygiene and NFI kits to registered beneficiaries;
    • Organize emergency hygiene promotion awareness raising sessions;
    • Assist Identify targeted partners within the communities: schools, hospitals, clinics, etc;

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum of National Diploma in Public Health or Health related field;
    • Previous experience in hygiene promotion and community mobilization;
    • Capacity to be adaptable and flexible in delivery tasks effectively;
    • At least 1 year of relevant work experience;
    • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
    • Fluency in Hausa and English;
    • Demonstrate commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy;
    • Previous experience of work in the humanitarian sector preferably;
    • Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy;

    Information and Communication Technology Officer

    Proposed Start date: February 2022

    Location: Potiskum, Yobe State

    Direct Line Manager: Logistics Manager

    Minimum Basic Salary: NGN 366, 604 per month (excluding other benefits)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Install and configure Servers and other network resources for Yobe offices and the respective users;
    • Closely support the DHoD - Infrastructure in the design and configuration of Local Area Network for the mission and takes full responsibility in network administration and monitoring of users’ access to the network and all its resources for Yobe offices;
    • Supports the DHoD - Infrastructure and the Roving Energy Officer in the deployment and management of all energy related projects/tasks for Yobe offices;
    • Manage the functionality of all CCTV systems and backing up of all CCTV footages for Yobe offices;
    • Carryout regular assets inventory and tracking for Yobe offices and report same to the DHoD - Infrastructure;
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to see that all requested equipment/services are delivered with the right specifications;
    • Configure all accounts (email, NHF and other relevant platform) for all users of Yobe offices and maintain the database for same locations;
    • Lead in the day to day user support and all requested supports are rendered within reasonable time frame for users of Yobe offices;
    • Closely monitor the use of all communication services (internet, gsm, satellite and radio) for unprofessional use or any possible abuse  and report same to the DHoD - Infrastructure;

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields. A non-related field with professional certifications;
    • Minimum of 3 years work experience in similar responsibilities is required;
    • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international related NGOs;
    • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
    • Strong verbal, written and communication skills, approachable, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality, able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;

    Logistics Officer

    Reporting to: Logistics Manager

    Proposed start date: February 2022

    Work location: Potiskum, Yobe State

    Starting Gross Basic Salary  281,063 NGN per month (excluding other benefits)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Ensure that preventive maintenance is scheduled and properly executed for all vehicles and generators;
    • Ensure that Action Against Hunger standard vehicle and generator fueling, maintenance and repair processes are implemented and adhered with, logbooks are filled, consolidated and monitored on a regular basis and reported monthly;
    • Directly supervise and manage the works of logistics assistants and oversee the drivers;
    • In case of accident, incident, provide report to Logistic Manager;
    • Ensure that Action Against Hunger standard fuel management processes are implemented and adhered with, monitored on a regular basis and reported monthly;
    • Develop a monthly planning of purchase for the materials required for the facility management; prepare PRs; and ensure quality control of deliveries from suppliers;
    • Organize inter-bases movements in liaison with base logisticians from other bases;
    • With the support of the logistics assistant, organize the cargo movements via trucks, planes or any other available and approved means;
    • Ensure security rules are followed up during the movements;
    • Consolidates monthly logistics cash forecast and the invoice payment schedule; adhere to policies and procedures; works for base improvements; provide inputs to budget proposals and procurement plans;
    • In collaboration with finance ensure all advances procedures are followed and documents are shared with relevant person;
    • Carry out inspections in the facilities then conduct repairs needed and submit suggestions for improvements to the supervisor;
    • Oversee the management of the facilities maintenance contract;
    • Need to quick response (if needed) about any electrical fault, plumbing issue within office premises and guest house;
    • Ensure conducive ambiences is set for all staff, where necessary, propose viable option for improvement of work settings;

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanics, Logistics, or related field. or related field;
    • At least 2 years of work experience preferably in humanitarian or development work with at least 1 years of experience in emergency;
    • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
    • Expert User of Microsoft Office Suite 2016 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to manage and follow work plans;
    • Strong verbal, written and communication skills;
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
    • Ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;
    • Fluent in English;
    • Good interpersonal skills – approachable, diplomatic, able to negotiate, influence, give and receive effective feedback, be a team player;
    • Ability to manage stress effectively and juggle competing priorities. Experience in supervisory position an asset;
    • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international and/or health related NGOs;
    • Fluency in one or more national or regional languages an asset. Proficient in IT and networking technology;

    Deputy Head of Nutrition and Health Department

    Job Summary

    • Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Deputy Head of Department (DHOD) Nutrition and Health, through the guidance of Head of  Nutrition and Health Department is responsible for the development of nutrition and health strategies and coordinate activities of Action Against Hunger (AAH) in the fields of Nutrition and Health in Borno State. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Integration and coherence of AAH’s health and nutritional activities – Primary health care, nutrition surveillance, feeding programs, health system strengthen – in accordance with the AAH country strategy and the national and state Ministry of Health strategy;
    • Support Health and Nutrition Head of Department to ensure the cohesion of the health and Nutrition teams within themselves and with the other sector programs;
    • Provide technical guidance to the pharmacy team about handling of medical commodity in coordination with Health and Nutrition Head of Department;
    • In coordination with the Health and Nutrition Head of Department, participate in all relevant meetings related to nutrition and health, including meetings with donors, partners, sectors and governmental bodies (when required);
    • Encouraging the collaboration with other agencies, on nutrition and health activities or technical assistance;
    • Provide technical support and guidance to partner agencies and relevant governmental bodies, specifically the SMoH SPHCDA, at all levels (state and LGA levels), in the development of national and state nutrition and health policy and protocols for Nigeria in collaboration with the Health and Nutrition Head of Department;
    • Collaborate and communicate with Head of Departments, Program Managers, and any other AAH resource people in order to ensure the coherence of activities and reports in terms of AAH nutritional and health strategy;
    • Contribute to the overall mission and program strategy, narrative and financial project proposals and reporting, in collaboration with Health and Nutrition Head of Department /support department and other program coordinators as necessary.
    • Support AAH Pharmacist on drugs management in coordination with Health and Nutrition Head of Department and Logistic in each base;
    • In collaboration with Health and Nutrition Head of department, contribute to the technical review of monthly/quarterly/annual AAH nutrition and health reports to guarantee standard and high quality of information.

    Position Requirements

    • Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Management or related fields or Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition with experience in sector/partnership coordination;
    • At least 6 years of experience in managing nutrition and health programs in humanitarian and development contexts;
    • Humanitarian field experience, preferably with supervisory role;
    • Excellent skills in report writing and analysis;
    • Sound understanding of national guidelines/protocols; PHC, CMAM, IYCF, IMNCI, RMNCH,  PHC;
    • Experience communicating in different cultural work environments & with a wide diversity of cultures;
    • Experience with external representation and knowledge of Cluster mechanisms;
    • Good diplomatic, negotiation and conflict/dispute resolution skills;
    • Working experience in Northern Nigeria.

    Starting Gross Basic Salary

    • NGN718,840 Monthly (excluding other benefits)
