To ensure that all financial matters are undertaken in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the company’s accounting policies and all other applicable regulatory guidelines

• To ensure budgetary control - expense & income budgets and analyze variances if any
• To be actively involved in stock counts
• To ensure implementation of credit limits to manage company's debt exposure - risk
• Revenue control - To ensure cash collection drawers are closed on a daily basis with no variances
• To ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
• Maintain service level agreement between Internal Control and business units
• To develop and implement internal control strategy in accordance with company goals
• To ensure appropriate control systems are in place and adherence to SOPs companywide
• To ensure adherence to inventory management procedures and ensure efficient use of company's resources

• Review the effectiveness  of company’ internal control systems and identify gaps for corrective action 

Experience :2 - 4 years relevant experience in an audit firm

Manage financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records: approve journal accounting entries and ensure appropriate set up of all inflow entries on ERP system, reconcile General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial statements.

• Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements: ensure income statement, balance sheet, management reports, forecast and ad hoc reports are timely delivered.
• Prepare yearly budgets and quarterly forecasts with clear business assumptions.
• Provide leadership and direction within the finance department and across other departments.
• Develop and prepare business cases, strategic decision support analysis and financial planning often supported by complex financial models
• Design, prepare and present analysis suitable for Senior Management and Board-level presentations
• Ensure timely preparation of the annual statutory Accounts;
• Ensure smooth running of the Accounts Payable service.
• Ensure effective working capital and cashflow management.
• Monitor department spending and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure monthly reporting of Key Performance Indicators for the company.
• Keep abreast of development in IFRS and their impacts on reporting activities in the financial statements.
• Perform business intelligence studies from narrow to wider business environment.
• Participates in evaluating new business opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

• First Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or any other Management Science course.
• Professional certification in Accounting e.g. ACCA, ICAN, CIMA
• At least eight (8) years’ experience in varied finance functions including planning and analysis with at least three (3) years in a managerial role.
• Experienced in the development and implementation of Finance and Accounting policies and procedures.
• Good knowledge of ERP System (Sage)
• Advanced excel proficiency
• Results-orientated and pragmatic with exceptional quantitative and analytical ability and attention to detail
• Independent thinker and worker who can juggle multiple projects simultaneously with fast-changing priorities
• Flexibility to roll up your sleeves and attack problems and projects as they arise, where you will need to set out a clear structure, method and outcomes yourself
• Comfortable and effective in managing and communicating with team members and stakeholders
• Demonstrate sound work ethics
