    General Manager, Packaged Foods

    Job Summary

    • The General Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operational direction and profitable management of the organization’s packaged food business.
    • This includes new factory setup and operations, product quality and regulatory compliance, market entry, customer acquisition, capability development, and full P&L ownership.
    • The role holder will lead the strategy, execution and scaling of packaged food products (e.g. packaged ice cream and snacks, etc), ensuring commercial viability, food safety excellence, strong brand reputation and sustainable growth.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Own and deliver the full P&L performance of the packaged foods division, including revenue growth, cost control and profitability.
    • Develop and execute the business plan, budgets and growth strategy for the division.
    • Drive disciplined financial management across production, logistics and sales operations.
    • Lead the setup, commissioning and scaling of food production facilities, including layout, equipment selection and production planning.
    • Establish efficient production processes that optimize yield, cost, quality and capacity utilization.
    • Oversee preventive maintenance, production scheduling and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure consistent product quality, food safety and adherence to GMP, HACCP and relevant standards.
    • Put in place robust quality assurance, quality control and traceability systems across the value chain.
    • Drive continuous improvement in product formulation, shelf life and packaging integrity.
    • Lead engagement with and compliance to all relevant regulatory bodies responsible for food production and manufacturing.
    • Ensure all permits, certifications, inspections and statutory approvals are obtained and maintained without disruption to operations.
    • Proactively manage regulatory risk and audit readiness.
    • Drive customer acquisition, retention and channel expansion across retail, wholesale and distribution partners.
    • Develop pricing, go‑to‑market and route‑to‑market strategies that support margin and scale.
    • Champion brand presence, product penetration and market share growth.
    • Build and lead a high‑performing team

    Education and Experience required

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing or related discipline.
    • Minimum 12–15+ years’ experience in packaged food manufacturing, FMCG or related consumer goods business.
    • Proven experience with full P&L ownership and scaling a manufacturing‑led business.
    • Demonstrated experience setting up or expanding food production facilities (strongly desirable).
    • Hands‑on experience dealing with food regulatory bodies and compliance frameworks.
    • Track record of leading growth in a similar industry or company.

    Description

    • Sundry Foods' Bakery Division Graduate Internship programme is for fresh graduates of Food Science and Technology who have recently completed their NYSC programme.
    • The paid internship is a blend of hands-on on-the-job training and classroom theories in a fast-paced, high pressure, Mass-Market Bakery setting.
    • At the end of the Internship period, the participants would have learnt the rudiments of Mass-market Bread production end-to-end.
    • Successful interns per final assessments shall be be offered a full-time employment.
    • Candidate must be resident in Port Harcourt or able to relocate to Port Harcourt for the period of Internship even if the interested location is for Lagos or Abuja.

    • The Resident internal Auditor is responsible for advising all levels of management on the company’s systems of internal control and management of business risk within assigned location.
    • The internal auditor supports managements business objectives and the need for overall assurance on the quality and cost effectiveness of internal controls.
    • The Internal Auditor is expected to carry out constant reviews and spot checks designed to ensure that: 
      • The company’s assets are safeguarded from significant losses, including those caused by fraud, waste, inefficiency and commercially unsound practices
      • Relevant laws, policies, rules, regulations and other procedural routines are complied with.
      • Operations are conducted effectively, efficiently and economically in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
      • Management information system are reliable and secure
      • Systems under development are monitored that appropriate internal controls are built in and are consistent with the company’s business needs.
      • Significant business risk are effectively managed; and
      • Major business projects achieve their objectives.

    Resident Internal Auditor

    Job Responsibilities

    • The Resident Internal Auditor will be part of the internal audit team responsible for financial and operational Audits, testing and evaluating controls for adequacy and determining compliance with organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.

    The role holder will:

    • Perform internal Audit field work.
    • Audit of account payables (vetting of invoices with Bin card & security book)
    • Observing end of month stock & cash count.
    • Vetting of imprest retirement schedule.
    • Preparation of weekly audit plan, preparation of weekly activity/audit report to Head of Department.

    Requirements

    • Required Skill: Fraud prevention techniques, Analytical skills, Reporting writing skills, Excellent communication skills
    • Required Qualification: BSC/HND in Accounting or Equivalent with a minimum of second class.

    Human Resources Administrator

    Description

    • The Human Resources Administrators will be responsible for implementing Human Resources management best practices within assigned business divisions and regions. The role holder will:
    • Be the first point of contact to receive and resolve all people-related enquiries or complaints within assigned business division or region.
    • Manage recruitment, selection, and on-boarding of new hires within the region to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
    • Partner with business unit managers to build their leadership capability in the management of their staff and compliance with HR Policies.
    • Facilitate regular refresher trainings (and ensure implementation of on-the-job training) to ensure consistency in employees’ skills and attitude at work.
    • Coordinate Staff Engagement programs and Meetings to identify pertinent employee and work-place issues, provide pragmatic solutions and report outcomes.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of second class lower and 4 years’ experience in Human Resources Management functions in a fast-paced work environment
    • Candidate with experience in Recruitment and training preferred.
    • Candidate with HR Certification (CIPM, CIPD, etc) will have an added advantage.
    • Candidate with process mindset and able to re-engineer processes is desirable.
