    Senior Assistant Registrar

    Requirements

    Substantive Bursar

    Description

    The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vice- Chancellor for the day to day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

    The Person

    • The Bursar must exhibit considerable degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency in matters of financial resource management.
    • The candidate must be in good health and able to endure the rigours which the duties entail. Such a person must show innovative approach to the running of an ICT-driven bursary, working at the highest level of efficiency to eliminate time wasting bureaucracy and bottlenecks.
    • The candidate should possess the ability to advise the Vice-Chancellor in planning and executing strategies for enhancing internally generated revenue as well as promoting the culture of doing more with less.

    Qualifications

    • Applicant should possess a good first or second degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration and must as well be a qualified chartered accountant and a member of any of the following professional accounting bodies: ICAN, ANAN, ACA.
    • The applicant must have had a minimum fifteen (15) years cognate experience from the date of qualification, seven (7) years of which must have been spent in a recognized University.
    • Exposure in professional accounting practice and an MBA degree from an accredited Nigerian University, fellowship of the accounts professional body will be an added advantage.

    Tenure and Conditions of Service

    • The successful candidate must hold office for a period of five (5) years which may be renewed for another term of five years.

    Substantive University Librarian

    Description

    • The University Librarian is the Chief Library Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University Library. 

    The Person

    • The applicant must have a considerable level of competence and demonstrate integrity in running a University Library.
    • The applicant must be knowledgeable in the management of an ICT driven library. Such a person must be in good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duties of a University Librarian.
    • The Applicant must possess the ability to advise the Vice-Chancellor in planning and executing strategies for maintaining facilities and promoting healthy library culture among students.

    Qualifications

    • Candidate must have a good University degree and Master in Library Studies or Post graduate Diploma in librarianship plus at least fifteen (15) years' experience in librarianship cadre.
    • Possession of a Ph.D. will be an advantage.

    • The appointment is for a term of five (5) years and may be renewed for another term of five years.

    • Experience: The applicant must be of the rank of Deputy Registrar and have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience nine (9) years of which must have been spent in a recognized University.
    • Exposure in administrative practice in an accredited Nigerian University will be an added advantage.
