    Plant Assistant/ General Maintenance, A&C

    The role of the Plant Assistant/ General Maintenance is to ensure all plants and plant equipment are functioning effectively.

    What you'll be doing

    • Health & Safety
      • Ensure full compliance of the plant with Lafarge safety standards
      • Safety awareness in the operation of heavy plant in the presence of ground personnel
      •  At least 2 VFL monthly
    • Operations
      • Ensure that the plant operational and ready for production
      • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on the plant with the check list
      • Ensure operation of all generators on the plant
      • Respond to plant issue e.g. power outages, water shortages, tools supply inspection and receipt
      • Provide technical assistance to contractor carrying out jobs in the plant
      • Timely report to break downs, repairs and work in progress in the plant
      • Ensure up to date records of uptime/ downtime of trucks and plant assets on daily/ monthly basis
      • Ensure up to date records hour meter readings/ running time for all generators and trucks on daily and monthly basis
      • Liaise with the workshop on maintenance and repairs issues
      • Ensure that production assistants are exposed to daily maintenance technics and routines
      • Assist production in terms trucks and driver coordination
      • General inspection of the plant, store area and accommodation area
    • Interaction
      • Coach, train and help direct reports to understand and follow Lafarge procedures
      • Pro-active approach towards interaction between in – house departments within the plants

    What we are looking for

    • OND in mechanical engineering or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a maintenance mechanic at a concrete manufacturing plant
    • Completion of a recognized vocational education program in related field i.e. Mechanical in an industrial setting
    • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety
    • Possession and maintenance of a valid drivers’ license

    Security Operative, Mfamosing I

    The Security Operative (SO) is responsible for keeping Lafarge Africa and suppliers’ staff, visitors, and similar safe & secure. Based on shift work rotation the SO will be in the plant between eight and twelve hours, also on weekends, and supervise all security related activities while in parallel supervise and support all company transport activities.

    What you'll be doing

    • Responsible for the protection of the company’s PEARL (People, Environment, Assets, Reputation & Legal Exposure) in the South-East Region under the direction of the Security Manager South-East.
    • Support the supervision of the Private Security Provider, ensuring they fulfil their contractual obligations. Conduct supervisory checks on the 3rd party security provider and the services provided such as random checks at guard locations in Mfamosing Plant (MFA) and Calabar, joining vehicular patrols and ensuring all standards agreed are being fulfilled. To be conducted utilising various online tools that are available.
    • Ensure Lafarge Health & Safety standards are adhered to.
    • Supervise and direct the armed security incident response force.
    • Supervise and direct security assets during crises periods and/or in case of direct assaults on company staff and/or assets.
    • Provide reliable and concise incident data and write accurate reports via the various company online tools.
    • Interact with the local PSF (Public Security Forces) in cases of (armed) attacks, intrusions, trespassing, fraud and theft.
    • Safeguard that all Security & Resilience Policies of the company are adhered to.
    • Act as a communicator between the Plant Management and Security Department when the Senior Security Operatives is not present.
    • Work in shifts ensuring there is a 24/7 security supervision function on duty.
    • Support with investigations and detailed report writing. Validate reporting independent of the Private Security Provider’s report.
    •  Conduct independent assessments and identify gaps in baseline physical security and notify/ advise both the Security Manager and Senior Security Operative.
    • Gather local intelligence on all aspects and issues to support and protect the business.
    • Create and maintain intelligence networks.
    • Reporting of incidents on the Group Security SINT platform.
    • Monitoring and supervision of CCTV operators, video evidence assessment and ongoing projects

    What we are looking for

    • OND minimum requirement 
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a security supervisory position
    • Security incident supervisory experience (incl. following up on complex incidents such as shootings, armed attacks, theft, and similar)
    • Experience of supervising teams and resources
    • Capability to drive Lafarge security standards in all business activities.
    • Be Microsoft Office proficient
    • Ability to produce different kind of vetted and accurate incident reports.

    TitleStores Operative, A&C

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Stores Officer to support the efficient management of inventory and materials within our operations. The role will be responsible for issuing stock against duly authorised requests, receiving and recording returned items, and ensuring proper storage and stock accuracy across the Stores. The successful candidate will also support reporting, track and analyse problematic tickets for financial provision, and contribute to MRP management for spares and raw materials to ensure seamless operational continuity.

    What you'll be doing 

    • Supervision of stock transfers, issues and returns.
    • Stacking of items received into appropriate stock locations in the Stores
    • Maintain stock items in good and appropriate condition.
    • Effect materials transfer between plants and storage locations.
    • Managing material issuing processes - Issuing of stock items to users on receipt of duly authorised Maintenance Work Orders. Receiving of stock returns/ticket from users into the stores and ensure the system transaction is done.
    • Posting of Issues, Returns and Transfers on SAP real-time.
    • Prepare fast moving stocks for replenishment.
    • Arrangement of stocks and updating of bin locations file and ensure this is sustained..
    • Validate discrepancies declared during monthly stock counts (variance sheets).
    • Keeps of records of all Issues, Transfers and Returns of Stock Transactions.
    • Prepares daily Issue/Transfer/Return reports of items.
    • Support with MEC execution end ensure all goods movement are correctly captured on SAP.
    • Support with interfacing with Raw materials vendor on stock replenishment at the plant level.
    • Responsible for good health and safety of contract staff and properties under his supervision.
    • Ensures the compliance to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
    • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time as found necessary.

    What we are looking for 

    • OND in Business Administration or Diploma in Purchasing and Supply.
    • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP)
    • Familiar with engineering items, production items and general items.
    • Good analytical and reporting skills.
    • Good knowledge of stock and supplying (handling) management and Stock management techniques e.g. calculation of stock levels.
    • Good knowledge about Health & Hazards storage rules & regulations.
    • Techniques of stacking spare parts in proper conditions.
    • Knowledge of basic statistics (random sampling analysis, statistical laws as normal).
    • Knowledge of technical spares (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation especially for Readymix plants)

    What you'll be doing

    Industrial & General

    • Supporting the Internal control and Audit management in the planning and preparation of the assignment.
    • Ensure key internal controls are defined, implemented, documented, assessed and monitored in front of material risks;
    • Contributes to the design and recommendation of new policies and procedures to strengthen existing controls
    • Performing audit and verification procedures, and maintaining internal control and audit Working Papers and document repository.
    • Preparing and contributing to the group and audit committee report on policies, programs and activities of the business for presentation.

    • Evaluate the activities of the Logistics Safety Function in the plant in relation to the established laid down policies, procedures and operating effectiveness of relevant controls’;.
    • Monitor the review of Logistics Operations and Transport Management within the plant for control adequacy and implementation.
    • Review the Depot activities, stock position and other handling related costs within the area of coverage

    Industrial

    • Plant Related Activities covering - (Maintenance and Inventory management, Quarry operations, clinker production, cement grinding and Packing operations),

    Who you'll be working with 

    • The incumbent interacts regularly with all cadres of staff and external parties to the Organisation including:

    What we are looking for 

    • Relevant Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience, preferably with some experience in an internal audit function of multinational or Big ‘4’
    • Membership of ICAN, ACCA, CPA or other relevant professional body
    • Membership of Internal Control Institute
    • ISACA’s CRISC certification
    • Understanding of the cement industry or a similar business and regulatory environment (is a plus)
    • Good knowledge of process review & documentation: including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits
    • Knowledge of computerised accounting and auditing record keeping systems
    • An ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports

    Inventory Coordinator, A&C

    We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the effective management of engineering stores and raw materials across our operations. The role will focus on maintaining optimal stock levels, coordinating with maintenance, procurement and production teams, and ensuring timely processing of requisitions to minimize downtime and drive operational efficiency. The successful candidate will also support satellite store operations, monitor vendor performance and material quality, apply inventory planning tools to maintain accurate stock levels, and proactively manage slow-moving or obsolete inventory risks.

    What you'll be doing 

    • Safety
      • Ensure full compliance of the stores with Lafarge safety standards.
      • Carry out regular Boots on Ground inspections and ensure all issues are closed out in a timely manner.
      • Act as a role model to peers and subordinates with regards to safety management and behaviours.
    • Administration and Inventory management
      • Ensure changes in lead times for critical spares, are investigated and where necessary stock levels are modified to prevent exposure.
      • Ensure all reconditioned / repaired items are put back into stock at repair value
      • Identification and management of Redundant / Obsolete items held and working with stakeholders to sell on, repurpose and or dispose of the same.
      • Ensure compliance at all stages with the companies purchasing procedures.
    • Stock Management
      • Monitor Weekly / Monthly stock usage levels and act to preserve minimum levels, as required, identify areas of concern to management.
      • In cases where stock requirements change either on a companywide, Hub or plant basis work with teams to redistribute existing spares before reordering.
      • Ensure all stock items have a relevant MDM number and assigned storage location in the stores
      • Ensure all stock is appropriately rotated, to reduce loss.
      • Manage Inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stock-takes and audit of same to verify results.
      • Manage Stock Control: the self-assured receipt, storage, retrieval, transferring; document recording and data entry into the system
      • Monitor Intercompany transaction (Cement) and ensure stock invoiced against the business aligns with the right consumption. Reports for management decision where there are anomaly.
      • Documented monthly monitoring of critical spares and modifications of the same based on actual use at site level, upcoming projects and major maintenance works, availability in the market place and current status of imports to Nigeria.
    • Purchase requisitions
      • Carry out random checks on the PR’s and set up / manage a KPI identifying supplier performance against target dates. Act on non-compliances to improve performance / raise performance issues further up the management chain.
      • Work with the Project & Maintenance coordinators to balance requirements for Central and Hub stocks
    • Stock taking
      • Support the A&C controller in stock taking activities across the business
      • Ensure that templates are supplied to all locations identifying the requirements of the periodic stock check and that all team members are aware of the requirements.
      • Act upon findings of the stock take and presents a summary of any financial impacts and any planned improvements to management within 3 working days.
      • Ensure there are robust systems to cover management of waste materials in the plants and hubs, covering those items with a resale value (Tyres, Oil. Batteries etc)
    • Reporting and analysis
      • Prepare periodic reports to assess the effectiveness of stock management levels and actions taken to improve performance
      • Prepare KPI’s based on Critical spares, Supplier performance and Waste management, any other item that the business requires.
      • EOQ and Re-order level reports for critical spares

    What we are looking for

    • Degree in Mathematics, Accounting or similar subject
    • Certification in supply chain management will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience running commercial / Industrial stores
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Strong computer Skills especially Excel, word, powerpoint and IT tools such as SAP
    • Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills
    • Good attention to detail
